Management will draw people in with an appealing wage, but don't waste your time. They won't entertain the idea of proper benefits or mental health days to support their staff, and although there are some sick days included in your contract, good luck trying to use them- there's a serious lack of supply staff. There is zero accountability from management- everything is always the staff's fault, and management make every effort to pin the blame of unfortunate events on staff, even if the direction came directly from the office. The owner is barely ever in the centre, comes in late and leaves early often, and is nearly never available to answer questions, provide direction or talk to parents. Owner is often unapproachable and often doesn't speak to staff with respect- I found myself always walking on eggshells around her, waiting to figure out what her mood was before deciding whether or not to engage. She doesn't spend any time observing staff in programs and doesn't put effort in to really see firsthand how things are going in the classrooms and who is doing what well. The only feedback you will ever receive is negative (you're always doing SOMETHING wrong) but do not ever try to hold the office accountable or question their policies or behaviours, because they can never be wrong and the owner will hold a grudge against you for it. She often references policies and procedures incorrectly when it conveniences her and makes up rules that don't exist to make you feel confused and uninformed. Staff are overworked with an 8.5+ hour shift and only one short unpaid break, and are still asked to pick up using "flex time" or to cover off closing shift at the last minute. In all my years I have never felt so disrespected by my management as I did here and I would never return. The curriculum of this centre claims to be emergent, however the centre leans heavily into Christianity as an excuse to limit and control the conversations and experiences to be had in the classroom- seriously impeding on children's exposure to and understanding of the cultural traditions in their immediate community and the world as a whole, and ultimately not an emergent curriculum model. I will say, however, despite the stress and negativity that trickles down from the office, most of the women who work here are wonderful people and passionate educators who show up for the children and for one another to pick up the slack left by their absent leader.

I have worked at Noah’s Ark for several years. I have enjoyed working with the staff and management. I was off on a maternity leave and came back to a different classroom with supportive friendly staff. The supervisor was very helpful and gave me time to deal with my child’s health issues. I have worked In 2 centres previously and would choose to come back to this centre hands down. They care about their staff and show their appreciation by buying us coffee or a cold drink once and a while, give us pizza days, have a bbq lunch for us (before covid), and some nice small gifts for us to choose from at Christmas. It is a fast paced centre with 8 classrooms, loving and caring staff. The management tries to get the staff in the room working with you to be cooperative. They have coop students that work with the classroom staff.

One of the most significant benefits of working in childcare is the opportunity to build strong relationships with children and their families. By spending time with children on a daily basis, you can form bonds that will last a lifetime. These relationships can be especially meaningful when you have the opportunity to watch children grow and develop over time, from infancy through early childhood and beyond.

The lack of support, terrible management and the blatant favouritism they have towards the worst people in the centre overpowers the good. I have made a lot of strong connections here with some of the staff which is a positive but there is a lot of unnecessary gossip that goes on around the centre without consequences. The same person lies about everyone and everything and nothing ever comes of it. There is a reason the pay is so good, because the culture is majorly lacking. No one stays for very long and there's a reason for it. The best part of working here is the families and children but those amazing connections can be had anywhere. 

While there were a few females that were great to interact with there were also some who would throw u under the bus in an instant! Other employees are less then nice or friendly and are not reprimanded in anyway how they should be based on their actions. They do not handle serious situations how they should be handled and will end your employment with them once your 90 days are up!  They are always short staff a lot of staff doesn't want to continue working there and threatened to leave due to the constant issues within the centre.

Management is HORRIBLE! Most known among staff as a “cult”. If there is a problem within the centre and you address it, nothing is resolved. They pick and choose who they like. Some Staff have forgotten children, provoked children anaphylactic attack and not been fired, however if they don’t like you, they end your contract for no reason. 

98% of staff are afraid of management and don’t leave because of wage and become submissive to their arrogant way of leadership… but is it really worth it? 

I have worked in many other childcare centres over the years and I like this centre the best!  I have found this centre to be supportive of my needs.  The supervisor is welcoming and genuinely tries to help staff with concerns and issues.  The staff at the centre are friendly and are easy to get along with.  This centre does not expect staff to buy supplies for use with the children or in the program.  Getting time off thought is sometimes difficult due to a small supply list, although I have found this to be an issue at any centre that I have worked for.

I do not suggest this daycare for an RECE to be employed with. The management is horribly unorganized, and does not create a trustworthy atmosphere with their employees. The management also asks for their employees to do work for the centre outside of an RECE's actual job responsibilities such as moving furniture up and downstairs without actual training of how to properly lift heavy objects, and cleaning of the daycare when janitorial staff is away as opposed to hiring an on call janitorial staff.

I have been working at this centre for about 6 months.  I really like working with the majority of the staff and love the children.  The supervisor has been great at helping me re-enter back into the field of ECE and has supported me through my application to the CECE and learning the current methods of programming. Great place to work!

The staff are friendly, understanding and compassionate people. I have learned a great deal from being in their company. I wish to continue to grow as an ECE from their teachings.
