Noralta Lodge

During my shift I have to clean 42 rooms (Jack and Jill rooms), change dirty towels with a clean one. make beds,check for dirt and change it regularly, or remove and change dirty linens and comforters for check out rooms, clean and disinfect toilets, bathrooms and showers, sinks. dust tables, chairs, windows, TV's and make sure that all assigned areas are clean and done at the end of the day. Sometimes I have to clean a nasty room with other people's dirt (vomit, fecal scattered in the toilet) my supervisor always ask me to clean them up because nobody among my co-workers wants to. I loved my job and I love what I'm doing that is the reason why whatever things they assigned me to do it maybe light or hard job I find it easy because I enjoy and I always kept on my mind that everything for my family especially my children. At the end of the day I know I have something for them again.

The day start early in Fort Mac, tool meetings always at 7, safety discussion and work hazard is always part of that meeting, having big crews on site is always  challenge for the construction superintendent and foreman, our positive culture on site make everyone life easy and fun to work and increase productivity, the hardest part of the job is to keep everyone safe specially on their 3rd week of their shift ( 21 days shift ) , people start to feel the pressure and the long hours ( 12 hours daily ) , the most enjoyable part of the job is when you accomplish the tasks on time and budget with no accident and problem, also sitting in the dining area at night celebrating these achivement with my team, its my job as management and their right as hard workers to be appreciated.

I was hired on with little to no experience in this field or environment, and I was also the youngest employee in the history of the company. I was welcomed in with open arms, and immediately treated like I was one of the team. I was trained in all of the departments in the company and got to meet many amazing people from all different types of backgrounds. I quickly formed friendships with guests and clients that lasted throughout my entire experience with the company.

A typical day would be, starting off first thing in the morning, cleaning guests rooms.All day long.Lots of cleaning.I've definitely learn t how to clean. My co-workers are amazing people to work with. They become your family their. The Management can be great, but things could be handled better. Hardest part was putting up with a lot of people's junk or attitudes. The most enjoyable part was, the great friends I made their.

I didn't stay very long at Noralta because it was definitely one of the worst work experience of my life, no management at all you're just being a number and they don't have any consideration. Understaffed, work load in the kitchens is HUGE and keep on getting bigger most of the time so you end up doing UNPAID overtime pretty much every day and skipping your breaks. I WOULD NOT recommend this place, they treat people like dogs.

I have always loved working in camps I am not hard to please. Noralta under paid and over worked staff with no appreciation. They didn’t train people thouroughly and would throw you into the shift and let you fail. Luckily I have worked camps for many years so the job was completed every day but Noralta set everyone up for failure. I was VERY unhappy with this company. Would not recommend it to anyone..

Turned for the worst.  Doing what it takes to survive even if it meant pushing ethical barriers.  False sense of security type of environment.  For a company that claims to be "committed to its team members", it goes in one ear and out the other.  HR has no power there.  If you're looking for "just a job", this would be the place.  However, if you're looking to grow and be validated as a true team member, I would keep searching.

3 weeks on, and 1 week off shifts. 8-10 hours hard work, then you would go back for night rooms. I worked a 50 man trailer, laundry, cleaning rooms, the halls, the main bathrooms, and shower units. The clients were awesome, it was hard  and fast work, but the pay made it well worth while.

I found working at Noralta Lodge a challenging and rewarding experience. The co-workers were a pleasure and great fun to work with. They were like family as we spent 3 weeks together out of a month. It was a very faced paced enviorment, wich required excellent costomer service skills. The hardest part of the job would be the split shift hours i worked.

Awesome Pay with free food, gym and accommodations.  Since I was mostly doing breakfast work load was too much compared to other jobs in the kitchen.  Some managers were good and some weren't very professional. The hardest part of the job was getting a good night sleep because breakfast was a grave yard shift.
