Norson Construction

Norson Construction's job sites are indeed the safest I've worked on in my years of construction. 
Norson genuinely wants you to grow with the company and will provide on the job and specific classroom training to move your career path to where you will be a strong asset to them in a position you enjoy. Unfortunately there is a shortfall in the way they deliver their good intent to their employees.

If you love a job where you are doing different jobs everyday, always jumping from one job site to another, this job is for you!  Working with multiple trades in different stages of construction allowed me to watch and learn a bit of each trade.  Then utilize what I've learned and put it into action.  Hands down the best part is being able to build something from the ground up and when its all finished, just admiring the building and being able to say, "I built that".  Its an absolutely amazing feeling.

claimed he worked for PCL for 15 years and was a red seal carpenter. which he wasn't. 

gave the painters on site a 3 hour safety orientation then walks around the building with no PPE including steel toed boots

mandatory saturdays

lack of tools, material for task completion. consistently using sub trade material 

took a day off to care for somebody, laid off following day

A typical day at work:
I come to work in the morning. Supervisor gives us a plan for the day, and divides jobs for each employee. I usually get 1-2 people to help me and we start working on the project. 

Co-workers - I enjoy working in a team with my co-workers because they are very friendly and cooperative. 

The most enjoyable part of the job - Finishing touches, because we can see the progress we made so far.

Supervisor and foremans were very supportive and helpful.
I can't say same for rest of menagment. They don't think that workers are valued enough to spend time to answer questions. Too much night shift work. 

You know were you stand on there sites and their office was well organised. 
The sites were run by the books and you knew what was expected of you. You are given many opertunities to develup and demonstrate you skills.

Nothing but great things with this company. Management extremely profession and care about employees. As well as a huge focus on safety throughout the work day.

I've worked at better constructions companies than this one, only go if you have to. They're organization skills were not up to par, and the superintendent wouldn't assign jobs for you, you have to figure out that yourself.

This job for me was awesome, it was close to home and all the tasks at hand was nothing i couldn't handle...  What I learned from this job is that if we work together, anything is possible!

The pay was okay but all the work was the same each day. If you like concrete you'll love it here but only for a season. They hire way too many people at once only to follow it up with mass layoffs when the work slows down.
