Norstar

I worked at norstar windows and doors for a week and the employees we're complaining too the temps about there wage.  The management is not very helpful it's mostly rudeness and micro management.  One of the norstar employees said that norstars management is rated 3 % they don't have a clue what's going on. In a week I sprained my ankle because they put there material on the floor I had too climb over material too get too material there is no organization for stock products.the employees kiss up to management so they keep there 12 dollar a hour job.  Worst job ever I was let go because I had a specialist appointment and I let them know ahead of time.  I was also willing too come in after my appointment. Beware do not work there. They treat you horrible the manager walks around the warehouse with no steel toe boots or safety glasses.  The manager will get mad if you take your safety glasses off for a sec. They do not say anything too some employees not wearing them it's ridiculous.

Well, the building itself that I worked in is no longer under Norstar anymore, but it was a decent place to work at the time - not bad, but not great. I learned more from other employees and hands-on experience than the management. The management wasn't the greatest at the time, which is probably part of the reason the building was sold. They did give us some good stuff there though like company meals and a few minor benefits like shoe vouchers and credit towards certain types of gift cards we could get. Most enjoyable part of the job, for me, was having to pay attention to detail to make sure the products were as good as they could be in a reasonable amount of time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people are great to work for, the pay was decent and you get benefits which is a bonus 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management is aweful, including the HR they overwork you and if the Forman messes up he blames it on random workers but eventually gets caught in his lies 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fast paced dirty Smokey, stressful but the workers on the floor are amazing people 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A work load that is undoubtedly more than the average person can handle, you work 4 10hour days that feels like you’re working 18 hour days, unorganized management that have the nerve to yell and mistreat the workers

Great place to work if you have no further goals in life. If you need a paycheck every week to be pleased here is your job.

No advancement in the company, minimum wage for all those working the actual job on the warehouse floor, but for few 50 cents more per hour.

Management could be ran better by cats and dogs, never did i receive a cut sheet with proper measurements or amounts. Safety is stressed just for the fact that they have to, you might see two-three people actually wearing safety glasses at all times.

All employees that work there are good and genuine people, only good side that came out of this temporary job!

the job itself is fine.the management is horible.the way they treat their employees is wrong verry wrong.the manager is going around screaming at people for nothing. the last straw for me was that we worked 50 hour weeks so ok fine.then they said oh we had to work another 10 hours on sat and we whad no choice but to come in or we were suspended so i found another job.

Hectic days, small building with too much product made order picking difficult and time consuming. Had to have the ability to change priorities on the fly, will miss my co-workers.
Hardest part of the job was trying to find the time to accomplish everything in the time allotted. Enjoyed solving problems for customer service and training new employees.

a great place to work. a great management team. I was able to build new accounts and new relationships to the benefit of Norstars growing sales. I was happy to be a part of this company and I still keep in touch with them today.

Overall, it was pretty interesting to see how aluminum window frames are made and what makes the buildings that surround us today.

Excellent place to get mechanical and welding experience. Very little opportunity for advancement. Must be able to work fast and keep deadlines in a stressful environment
