Pay lagged behind union rates, shift work was half OT and they did not contribute to rrsp or pay vacation pay for half your shift because of this. They also didn't want to pay multi ticket rates if you were only doing UT1 work.

Often called for overtime at the last possible moment, was not mandatory but if you ever said no you wouldn't get asked again unless there were no other options.

Management were basically non existent unless there was a major problem.

However the people I worked with were great people&techs, no issues with anyone I worked with.

I worked as an NDT inspector, and the only good thing about the job was the coworkers—they were great to work with and made the days easier. Unfortunately, management was a mess. Nepotism was a big issue, and it was obvious that favoritism, not skill or hard work, determined opportunities. It really brought down the overall morale and made it a frustrating place to work

The company gave me a timeline and then had someone show up out of the blue to tell me to pack my bags and had me on a plane an hour later. I had no choice but to leave a lot of my belongings. I was not given any reason. I was also told that they do this all the time.

Lots of favoritism and special treatment for certain people.  Too many people in management and too many people to try to answer to.  It was a very stressful place of employment because you never knew who or what was going to happen next.  There was always different rules for different staff.

Family owned business, so you know and speak to the owners and management on a regular basis. You're not just a number, or a name on a list like the bigger companies. Consistent hours, and good job security knowing you won't be sat after the next shutdown.

A good place to gain experience as a green worker into the NDE field. Primarily dealt with oil and gas work and fabrication. A family-owned company, so the core employee group is very close-knit.

Work can be stressful at times and you never know when you'll be sent out of town for work but they try to be as fair and accommodating as possible. It comes with the territory.

Awesome management and co workers. Extremely varied work. Supportive staff and lots of chances to train. Company trucks and equipment ......................

It was fun working in a refinery and getting to know the ins and outs of the industry. 

Lots of good people to work with who are focused on the same ends

I had worked hard to get my next level ticket. The moment I did achieve this there was no place for me to go in the company and I had to find work elsewhere.
