Working is fine, but other custodians are inadequate along with head office 

I remember a teacher asked if id like the leftover food from their event and I agreed (thinking it was untouched food) but she then proceeds to take everyones touched plate that had food leftover and uneaten and put it all together and gave it to me. In disgust I took the tray and tossed it in the trash. Im a human being not a dog eating your disgusting scraps.

Pooooor poor management from head office. Very clicky as well. Unless you're in their "friend group" they treat you poorly and try screwing you over 10 fold. So no, I wouldn't work here. Maybe at another school that actually treats their custodial staff like human beings.

Call Lake high school they will keep you as long as it benefits them . When you get to a certain age, they will find a way to dump you. They will be no support. They will fire you right over the phone doesn’t matter how many years you put in and they won’t even have a meeting with you to tell you, why are you let go they will give you some bogus line, there’s not enough work. Be careful when you work for them you’re only as good as they want you to be. 

Typical day of dealing with kids and learning and growing with them. I learned how to do quick thinking on my feet for situations that come up. My co-workers were amazing and every day was fun, it did not feel like going to work. Hardest part of the job is being worn out at the end of the day. Most enjoyable is building relationships with the kids and seeing them grow and learn every day.

The structured day began in the classroom, assisting students individual learning needs.  Team approach to student success.  Communication essential to provide best learning environment for student.  
Fair management, variety of experiences to be shared.
Hardest part was lack of job security, the most enjoyable was being a part of student success.

A typical day of work was great. I'd come in talk to the boss about my task then proceed to the job. I learned lots about hands on work. The management was amazing. Very understanding, and took interest in each one of their employees. It was a great job and I'd highly recommend others to apply if there was a possible opening.

I have worked for Northern Lights School Division for 6 years.  They are very innovative and support their employers.  Northern Lights has many schools and are very responsible about the well being of their students.  I feel NLSD is a good place to work.

Opportunities to consult with other student assistants weekly, hardest part of this job was adapting to new teacher every year and changing administration. Enjoyable part of this job was helping children reach their potential.

A very fulfilling job, do something different on a daily basis, students are great, management is awesome, but I need a higher paying job, I also need to get out of the kitchen and do something totally different.

Staff are wonderful for the most part but we are really just a number and easy to replace. I felt like part of a team in my classrooms but got shuffled around ALOT, never really connecting with, or getting to know children. Division office sees us as just another worker.

enjoyable work environment. Lots of travel required with the position i am in, which was not always enjoyable in severe weather conditions.
i work with a great team of guys and we always were willing to assist each other when needed.
