Northern Maverick feels like a place that drains your energy rather than inspires. There’s a lack of investment in staff, purpose, training, and guest experience. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking to grow in their career. The atmosphere is discouraging, and the management seems indifferent to both the staff’s well-being and the business’s performance. It’s disheartening to work in an environment where staff hands in their two weeks every other day. Usually I can say, I learn from every job, but here I had to provide the support and guidance in full. It’s the first job that left me feeling disappointed and unfulfilled.

Promise you. Not worth it. 

Very hard work, but lots of it. Definitely the most honest of the postings on indeed, very down to earth, super loud hyper speed huge restaraunt. Sometimes very fun, sometimes too much.
Lots of hours, good people, but the guy giving us our share of the tips was a thief, jack. If he's still there, wow what an untrustworthy human.Be warned.

Despite my best efforts to keep a friendly, polite attitude, I continued to receive second hand comments from management telling me to dress "sexier" and have a better attitude every day, though I do realize restaurants need to attract customers, but why hired me if issues were always going to arise? I highly recommend NOT working  or eating at the Northern Maverick..

Great beer program, awesome and friendly management in FOH and BOH, want you to learn and be part of the team, great money. This place will look after you if you put the effort in. Tip out is high, but everything is expensive in King West and the kitchen deserves it. If I wanted to do this for a career I would work here.

Incredible management team, with some micromanagement.

Fun, friendly and fast-paced.

Difficult to create any kind of work life balance - 85hrs/week is not uncommon for FOH Managers.

Typical day is spent 90% on the floor, 10% admin, though more time is needed for administration at a brand-new facility.

Compensation is not reflective of work put in.

Northern Maverick has extremely unexperienced & unprofessional management that are never prepared for high peak times and therefore taking out their stress and anger on employees. Not to mention, there is no room for growth in Northern Maverick despite their promises when you apply.

You could got to upper management with Power Point presentation of things that are wrong and the ways that they could simply fix them and they will look you dead in the eye and tell you that those problems don't exist. Please stop gaslighting your employees and just listen to them. They're telling you exactly what they need and you're invalidating them.

The staff. I met really amazing people working here. Food is good to!

The rush. You start at 5pm and you’ll be there until5am/6 if it’s a busy weekend

Coworkers and kitchen staff are all very friendly, and you are given a part of the tips, even if you are kitchen staff. The managers are all very accomodating, and the food is great. Also near a mc donalds if you want to eat there.
