What i leaned
Great education about dealing with people and under standing them,
as well working with heavy equipment physics and safety, I'm all about making it a better place, knowledge is key, over the years I had many tickets and certificates, like fork lift, first aid, fall arrest, confined space and rescue, hoisting and rigging, over head cranes, heavy equipment 4 peace operator tickets, supervisors ground disturbance ticket, safety awareness, joint health and safety ticket, pipeline construction safety ticket, flagging, ground secure, jack leg, scoop trams, blasting, mucking machine and hag, full face, and half face training, maintenance 3 tech......

Management
To know all about a company safety and work policy an to ensure that management is not worried about me, and to complete managements daily tasks an to please them about my knowledge

Having a job I love to do !!!!!! I'm a  jack of all trades you can say, like challenges, trouble shooting, multi tasking, helping other when in need.

Enjoyed the work as always do.  But unfortunately there was too much bullying and nonsense happening way to often.  Most of the bad attitudes were from the people who were using or abusing drugs and alcohol.  A much better environment would be a dry camp and drug testing throughout the term of a project as required.  Management was corrupted to these serious drug and alcohol issues. The hardest part was dealing with the bullying issues and disrespect.  The most enjoyable part was the awesome scenery and working in a wildlife paradise!

Pioneer will not pay any benifits till after 1200 hours. When i reached 1000 hours i was layed off. When i returned to work Pioneer issued me a new employees number. Later i was informed that my previous hours will not count towards my benifits. I took this issue up with the union and management with no success. 
Working a the Wesdome mishi mine i issued a work refusal based on the exceessive drug and alcohol abuse on the crew. Pioneer then layed me off.  Time to move on to a more professional company.

The job was hard but it had its rewards too!Meeting with the customers and creating a safe and a well controlled work place with the demands of the controls and regulations to run such operations.Chasing Bears was the most tasking of all,sometimes there would be up to 6 at any given time.Picking paper and blown around was a daily task and was also dangerous and back breaking work.It was a job full of surprises and very dirty job.I worked hard to make it look easy and the ones that worked with me would say the same.

meeting and dealing with new people daily gives great satisfaction

Break all the rules..deny people of rightful pay..only because the company owned union lets them get away with almost murder..especially new student workers..you will be treated like dirt by their formans and they know this but do nothing about it..if you think you will be protected by the union..I suggest you run as fast as you can..not a good place to work at all

My time at Pioneer was a learning experience.  This is where I started in the heavy equipment trade.  I was lucky to get the opportunity to go underground and expand my knowledge of heavy duty equipment technician.  I also did all my schooling through Pioneer, while working there.

Early starts and long hours, but rewarding.  Prior to working with Pioneer Construction, the majority of work experience was in the hospitality area: server, bartending, but gained valuable work experience with Pioneer Construction.

drive big trucks all day and all night 
I learened that a private unions are usless
great coworkers
driving a rock truck with no heat in the winter
when the trucks caught fire and they had no fire extinguisher

you go in and you get paid
no frills 
they treat their staff like they are a dime a dozen and do not promote any aspect of a healthy and safe work environment
