What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Highly toxic, dictatorship. Poor leadership, poor standards of policies and procedures. Disorganization. Non appreciative.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lack of true leadership, yet micromanagement of every task you do by posting to teams, rather than speaking as a team and to management. No follow through with concerns or management reviews. Frontline staff are amazing. Dealing with highly vulnerable people and improving their lives, while educating and bringing attention to-and destigmatizing the community.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It is a fulfilling job. You will receive lots of training and courses while working here that you can carry on to other jobs. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Extremely toxic work environment. The job itself is very easy and fulfilling, however, the work culture is horrendous. There is a huge amount of favouritism that is painfully obvious to everyone. Good luck if you get on managements bad side or an employee that is favourited. Problems are not dealt with properly and are often swept under the rug. If it is something management does not want to deal with, you will be gaslighted into thinking you are the issue or let go.

Extremely toxic and stressful.

Knowing that you are able to support so many people in the community

Dealing with management and not having structure to the organization in fort McMurray. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The organization is so needed and so important in fort mac but the leadership and toxic culture of the workplace is why the staff turn over is so high. Upper management should really listen and look into this. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Always different. But that’s the best part.

Honest review after working here for a couple years. It has had its ups and downs, but seems like it is really becoming a great place to work.  Younger, eager and newer leadership team has really tried to make things better and have set some standards making things a lot more fair.  For a non-profit, Northreach is one of the highest payers in the region, including paid time off and benefits.  It is nice to have a friendly group now with doors always opened.  The employee events have been a lot of fun as well.

The support you receive from team leads  and flexibility with your schedule 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The clientele, at times the barriers we face in the harm reduction field 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There is a calm, supportive environment. We are culture oriented 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy busy busy! Fast paced and need to think on your toes

Northreach has been a decent place to work. Co-workers are awesome.  Management is Understanding and accommodating which works great for a work/home balance. Decent time off, okay benefits, great training opportunities.  

As a student, Northreach provided a great working environment and learning experience.  It was the most fun work environment I have been part of.  The employees and managers are very friendly and were always available to help or answer questions.  I hope to work with Northreach again.

As a LPN I enjoyed my experience at Northreach Society.  I gained some great experience and made some good friends along the way.  Very rewarding job and really helped jump start my career out of school.  I'd recommend it for sure.

Excellent opportunity to work in a harm reduction environment serving adult clients in active addiction situations. Teamwork and problem solving in the moment is a must. Building relationships of trust through day to day care.

Lack of training and growth, change management isn't the greatest, politically motivated and subject to change, toxic executives. However, front line was supportive with learners and newcomers unless they were executive favourites.
