Nucleus is not the place for you if you are pursuing a career.  The worst place to work. There is a very high turnover of staff all around the company.  Management has no respect for staff and personal boundaries are often crossed.  There is no training of any kind for any position you are hired due to the high turnover of staff.  New staff orientation was given 2 months after hire date.  When new staff starts they are thrown into the mix and they are left to fend for themselves with no training.  The staff member is working with constant phone calls and emails accompanied with verbal abuse from consumers and staff and no support from management.  Staff are expected to pick up the slack when others abruptly quit (happens often) with no reward or recognition.  The office is constantly understaffed. Overtime and extra hours are always required with no pay.  Management does not respect your day off and constantly call you at all hours of the day.  The schedule is not made in advance and you are left with very little work/life balance.  Schedules and shifts change daily due to poor management.  You are constantly asked to work on your day/weekend off and are asked point blank why you are not able to work which is crossing personal and professional boundaries.  When you are in the office you are constantly verbally abused by PSW’s and clients with no management support whatsoever.  The office environment is very toxic/volatile ready to erupt any minute.  Human resources and senior management constantly bully staff by interrogating them privately and asking questions about other staff and their privacy.  This encourages tattle tailing and harbours a toxic culture.  On numerous occasions staff are pulled into human resources and are asked about other staff members through what is phrased as investigations.  Human resources lack professionalism and ethics to be in that role. Management follows the old-style management of bullying staff and treating them like servants.  Management does not support you in any decision however will go as far as throwing you under the bus to save themselves.  You are constantly asked to do work that is out of your scope and management asks you to pick up their work.  All clients are unhappy with the service they receive and are constantly complaining which leaves us the staff having to answer to some embarrassing decisions made by management.  The pay is not worth it as the amount of work is not appreciated or accounted into the pay.  You are expected daily to work 8 hours with no break. You are promised certain times of work in the interview, that is not what is presented when hired.  The company lacks ethics, respect and professionalism and that is very clear to any employee hired immediately.  Operations are run by trying to keep your head above water at all times and putting out fires with a contestant level of high draining stress.  Any day spent at Nucleus is a disservice to your self-worth and career.

If you take your career seriously...this is not the place for you; in less you are just seeking a short term position. Senior management does not support its staff but instead pursues a bullying type of approach that dominated in the '50-80's era; without any comprehension of new management styles. On numerous occasions staff could be seen coming out of the human resource office crying, because of the way they were talked to and addressed during what we phrased as being "interrogations". In one instance senior management went as far as saying that they were the captain of the ship and the rest of the employees were the oarmen.....an imagery that portrays an intolerent environment at the very least.
The organization has a bad reputation in the field due to its low retention rates and how they treat staff; and consistently terminate staff with no explanation for termination; giving question to possible descrimination. The quitting and firing of staff is so rampent that the organization has been understaffed for years. Staff left onboard the "ship" are expected to meet the same expectations with a much heavier workload and minimal pay. The problem is that this has been cyclic and as a result there is no life work balance and just isn't worth the pay. Also, due to their increasing need to board on new staff; orientation training is often not sufficient and in one instance orientation training did not get completed until 3 months afterwards: at which time staff were already aware of policies and procedures of the organization; but, were still forced to complete the orientation. Those that had been forced to go to training had to sit a room full of new recruits for 3 days. 
The organization does not do its due diligence in ensuring that ALL PSW (including agency staff) have completed their required education to work in the field. As a result numerous client complaints of receiving an untrained PSW or even receiving a PSW that has no idea of the scope of the work are quite common. As a result, staff are frequently having to deal with these complaints. Demonstrating the organizations' lack of empathy towards clients and inability to mitigate risk and ensure a pleasurable client experience. 
The one positive experience about this place is that there are some exceptional individuals; who go out of their way to help alleviate the risk that is created by the poor senior management skill set and decision making.

Run as fast as you can from this company!!!!The company has a very unhealthy culture.  Birthday are not allowed to be celebrated, no gatherings of any kind and no Christmas party.  Human resources resorts to bullying by asking staff members about other staff members and threatening staff on multiple occasions.  Senior management bullies the manager and staff.  The way the organization is built is flawed.  The filing system is from 1960, so much paperwork.  Office supplies are not provided.  The schedulers do the bare minimum.  Administrative supervisors are burnt out from working 8 hours with no breaks.  Management do not support staff.  There are no breaks, you are working 8-9 hours sometimes double shift with no break. HR does not listen to concerns and only listens to senior management to keep their job.  Management is afraid to lose their job and only does what senior management asks.  As an administrative supervisor you are glued to the desk and aren’t allowed to take bathroom breaks.  The company does not allow you to take any breaks.  As an administrative supervisor, you are verbally abused by consumers on the phone and staff all day.  Yelling, shouting, swearing is very common in this company. There are no rules.  You are expected to work every weekend; every day and the schedules are not fixed. You shift does not end at 10:30pm, most likely much later.  HR lacks ethics and repeat things said in confidence.  The service the company provides in inconsistent and consumers are not happy.  There is no PSW training, there is no supervisor training.  As an administrative supervisor, you are left to bare the weight of everyone because all complaints come to you.  The company does not pay well in terms of the work you do.  By far the worst company to work for.  It is a joke.

Management spends all their time in meetings, and talks a big game however despite claiming that they are all about work culture and such the truth is that any time there are issues the majority of the team is literally too scared to bring anything up. Very little focus is being placed on actually improving the services that clients (or consumers as Nucleus calls them) receive. The scheduling system is buggy and not fully set up, and there is such massive staff shortage that around half of the field staff are subcontractors. Any actual suggestions to management are ignored despite meetings being set up. Likely due to the fact that meetings allow management to show they are "working" but the fact that the clients receive a bad service isnt really their problem. Even in one of the replies to reviews here they mention working with a university team to make things better. Well, this "work" has been going on for well over a year with zero results, while the company's scheduling software STILL doesn't have availability input for the workers, making about half the scheduling features not work since the system thinks everyone has 24/7 availability.

Working for Nucleus for the past year and a half was a challenging but positive experience. I worked at Nucleus in the capacity of Community Supervisor and later as a Care Team Lead. There has been a remarkable level of change in the operational side and management. Nucleus continues to integrate new systems to enhance what they do and continues to modernize to meet the needs of the organization and healthcare sector. I genuinely enjoyed my time at Nucleus and appreciated the numerous trainings and support given to enable me to grow in the new role. Nucleus believes in the potential of their staff and enables them to drive improvements as it continues to change and grow. I thank Nucleus for the opportunities and experiences provided to me during my time with the company. Change is vital for progress and it was time for me to personally and professionally grow to meet future career goals. Someone once said, “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress; working together is success.” I believe Nucleus will continue to make strides in Home and Community Care.

•	Day-to-day support and maintenance for the client scheduling software system (Campana Systems GoldCare application) including database administration, table set up and maintenance, performance monitoring, problem identification and user assistance.
•	Identify and respond to incidents, i.e. qualify impact and urgency, notify responsible team, troubleshoot and apply the fix, escalate to the appropriate team, report incidents etc.
•	Respond efficiently and quickly to requested demands on a daily basis
•	Accountable for following up and closing tickets
•	Maintain accurate inventory records of all Computer Hardware/Software and Smartphone devices

I have learned to be patient and focused under pressure.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the three weeks paid vacation.

This company gives you all the resources you need to feel supported and your voice appreciated. Every person has been so welcoming during the onboarding and training process. Been with the company for such a short period of time but already feel like you are apart of the family. CEO/management have an open door policy, even when working from home. This has made it incredibly easy to communicate during these troubling times. Management and other team members have been very supportive during the training process, making sure you have time to digest the materials you are learning, and given ample opportunities to ask questions and clarify without feeling like you are not getting it. 

I've been with this company for over 4 years and have watched it go from good to bad and bad to good.  It was toxic for a while but now managers are in place who know the work and care about employees.  Several staff who caused problems (gossip, throwing you under the bus etc.) have left.  There has been improvement in terms of senior management visibility and all staff meetings, but still could be better.  I know people are busy, but staff need to have information.  The organization has done a good job through coronavirus managing a difficult situation.  Good place to get experience and feel rewarded helping seniors.

Working for this organization has been a refreshing experience. It's clear they are genuinely trying to make a difference, not just within the company but in the broader community as well. They show thoughtfulness towards employees, making us feel appreciated for our hard work and effort.
I love that there’s always space for us to share our input and ideas. It fosters a collaborative environment where everyone’s voice is heard. Plus, the weekly newsletters keep us informed about what’s happening across the organization, so we always feel connected and engaged.
Overall, I’m proud to be part of a team that values its people and is committed to making a positive impact. It truly feels like a place where we can all grow together!


Terrible place to work. There is a very high turnover of office staff and staff working in the community. Management has no respect for clients or employees. I did not encounter a single client that was happy with the care they received from this company. Office staff will harass you with phone calls at all hours of the night and day, and be extremely rude when speaking to you. Union agreement was regularly violated. They will expect you to work 44+ hours a week as a part time employee (they refuse to hire full time in order to save money). The pay is decent, but certainly not worth it. Office staff is so disorganized and ignorant it's unbelievable. There is much better jobs out there with other companies.
