Typical day at work: Start day with stretching and job duties for the day. Prepare site for required job. Prepare proper ppe. Lifting and packing rebar and placing it, tie in the rebar. Cutting rebar with required tool. Use of machinery if needed.

What you learned: I have learned new methods in the job site such as safety, proper use of power tools, operating machinery, how to utilize man power.

Your Co-workers: I have learnt many things from co workers and highly enjoy working with people and sharing ideas.

The hardest part of work: I would say the hardest part of my job would be continues packing of very heavy rebar and tying continues through the day, most of all the lack of work between job sites and winter.

The most enjoyable part of the day: I personally enjoy learning new things working with new people and the physically demanding part of the job

Getting started before 7am is great for the review and confirmation of the days' scheduling requirements.
Training of staff and continued mentoring will always be the most rewarding and enjoyable part of my job.
I learned to be more flexible in the sequence of daily department operations and functions, provided the job was completed within the timeframe required.
Proofing and approval of contractual agreements is very tedious work and therefore the one aspect of my job that was difficult to enjoy.

Company provide good benefits and bonus. Management cares about the quantity more then quality. They only care about producing more tonnages and don't want to sit with you and understand to focus on quality. They will leave you to alone to solve your project's issues, on other hand they will more interested in your project when something goes wrong and this goes without saying "only you will be responsible for all wrong doing even though it's not your fault".
You take blame for all other department's mistake like estimating, production, placing...
Growth opportunity is very very limited and slow. 
Forget about getting management position unless you praise your managers and be in their favorite books. They do not choose supervisors or managers based on merit.

Was a good place to work.  Coworker was impossible to work with, was treated very unfairly and when tried to go through proper channels to report treatment was met with negativity as coworker was senior employee.   Was a parent of young child and basically had to choose between family or career.  I choose family and a new company who understood family being first and career second.

Management in beginning was great, managers change out every few years so periodic changes in procedures and policies.

Other workers in the building, team was great.  

Quiet working environment in office. I try to learn what I can from the projects we work on. Management can be unaware there is a lack of leadership in mentoring and technical assistance for the staff. The hardest part of my job is sitting constantly, commuting, short lunches 1/2hr. No paid personal time for doctors appointments, The most enjoyable part of my job is talking to other personnel in other departments. Communication and friendship with them. Successfully completing a project is a great feeling. 

This payroll job was the best job that I had in Canada.
The best trainers, the best managers and the best colleagues.
Very busy environment, but also very rewarding.
The managers really cares about the well being of the employees.
I was motivated to travel 180 km/day to go to work.
I am really proud and happy that I worked at Harris Rebar, I did lean a lot there. If I will have the opportunity to work there again, I would go back with no hesitation.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing my mentor was rude behind my back and I thought I didn’t see the signs they also left me setting home for a month and two weeks and they guys have no unity they all talk behind each other back it’s a snake in the grass company from my personal experience. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
That company wasn’t good to me 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They don’t think woman should do the job and they don’t like to mentorship for the next generation to work

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get to work and get out of there.

Don’t work here. Everyone is miserable at work even before they sign in, everyone there is horrible to their co-workers, you will be constantly sore, you can’t go go the bathroom for more than 10 minutes it’s like they time you

Over worked underpaid and not appreciated by management.
Manager hold no one accountable and points fingers and blames every one else. Very poor morale, no company functions or team building. Just pitting one department against another. Management very cheap, reactive as opposed to proactive, micromanagement, unorganized and plays favorites. High turnover rate.
Had to rate management 1 star as I was not allowed to fate 0.

when i first get to work i make sure my PPE personal protective equiment is well maintained and in good working condition, my PPE includes, safety boots, hard hat, vest, gloves, and glasses. after the foreman have a satefy talk and explain are duties and what will be doing for the day, most of the time its either placing steel on the slab, building colums, or standing walls, we have a 15 mins break at 9h30 and a 30 min lunch break at noon. after are day I stretch in the shack and go home.
