 Job work/life balance - It was great. 12-hour 15 minute was a long shift but having 4 days to recuperate was amazing especially without rotating shifts.
Compensation/Benefits- Pay was decent especially if you were fortunate enough to get master operator pay. Benefits & pension were among the worst I have had, but I guess better than nothing. 
Job Security/advancement - I will start on a positive note... Job advancement seemed promising in ways. I liked the fact that they promoted from within. Now to the negative. Job security is non-existent. 0 days notice to be sent home on severance before EI. Several job advancements seemed rushed and lacked thought. 
Management - Brantford upper management team was amazing. They tried to do what they could with what they were given. Letting go of the original plant manager was a mistake in many ways. Brantford supervisor choices could have used some work but they are good people. Laval management failed us from start to finish. Near 3 million tax payer dollars and 40+ million dollars wasted due to poor leadership.
Job Culture - Brantford team was again amazing. Production team worked pretty good together. There were some troublemakers at the beginning but they eventually got weeded out. Its unfortunate how we all got treated in the end.
Overall - I 100% do not suggest working here. Numesh Ontario operations appear to have stopped, however Laval will still operate. My only thought is the union might protect you more vs us. Brantford’s upper management was good about promoting from within & focusing on health, safety & quality over production. I’m very disappointed in Lavals management for a multitude of reasons including but not limited to:
i) Giving no notice - what is with that? ANY company should have multiple months figured out. Perhaps you should have a look at your very vast financial team and reconsider some of them.
ii) Planning - what kind of planning even happened? Multiple cranes that could not fit. A building that was/is falling apart.
iii) Vast Admin Team - I swear the admin team is near as large as the work force in Laval now. Multiple roles that are not of need. Controller, assistant-controller, payables, purchaser, store clerk/purchaser, and wanna be engineers... seems like a lot of reoccuring roles. Meanwhile Brantford had something like 2-3 admin staff doing the roles of muliple of those people.
iv) Firing the plant manager & paying for transport - So they get rid of the plant manager so they can send the Laval plant manager every other week. I do not see the savings to get rid of a good manager and pay hotel, transport, food every other week. Also sending other upper management & wanna be engineers for no added value. They never helped with ANY amount of production. Would have saved money in my eyes just staying in Laval and keeping their previous manager.

Ultimately, Laval management really messed up a beautiful thing. They should REALLY consider a change in ALL of management before Numesh goes extinct. Would be nice if they either went public or sold the Ontario side of the business so people can keep their livelihoods over closing the doors but greed likely will win.


Management is unconcerned about health and safety of employees. Breathing in metal dust for 12 hour shift, management looks the other way. Company has very finacial issues shortage of work issues, work for Numesh and chase the carrot. The pay is decent. That is all. Would give 0/10 stars.

Working for Numesh can be difficult. It can get extremely tough on the body. Good people to work with and good pay. Some days are long, some go by pretty quickly. You're going to get dirty, but they have a washing service for your clothes.  The training could be better and more organized. 

Initiative, hard work and dedication is appreciated and often rewarded by management. Three day work week is definitely an incentive. Solid benefits and fair wages make the work experience enjoyable. 

Very happy to be hired at Numesh. Upper management and staff very friendly. Great benefits. Employes were very welcoming to the new employe. I recommend Numesh for anyone looking for employment.

A great place to work, Learned new trade. Lots of  experience to be learned, Great atmosphere to work in benefits are great and very accommodating to the employees.

Just starting out thier Ontario plant. Great leadership and huge potential for growth as new facility continues to expand. Has a great culture and co-workers are easy to get along with.

It was a great job, however through multiple layoffs and the eventual closing of the Ontario branch of the company,  the lack of job security left a lot of people struggling.
