This could be a very valuable organization for the province and our healthcare system, but some of the executives from legacy CCO and eHealth are just bringing and protecting their own old buddies for their own personal agendas, and some are having hidden deals with vendors and consulting companies for building business for them while pretending to be for the sake of the province, and after they leave OH they become partners in these consulting companies and cash out the favoritisms, because they have already built a business model for them from tax payers money. It is really sad that hundreds of millions of dollars of the tax payers are wasted and making some private corporations and some executives rich, while our hospitals are financially suffering, and patients who could be us and our families are losing their lives because there are not enough beds for them. At the same time, when it comes to minimum pay raises for the employees, the same executives push back. At the same time, there are so many good hard working people are dedicating their lives and hearths to this place because they believe in their good service for Ontarian people, but unfortunately such employees never are appreciated and if they try to correct the wrongdoings, they are pushed out of the door to be replaced with obedient resources who do not ask any questions and just keep quiet. 

Lots of change going on as they build and form this new organization, which is a combination of several previous provincial healthcare agencies. Change is opportunity for the agency and it’s employees though. As long as things keep heading in the right direction they have a great future ahead. 

The only downside is they do have a cost cutting mandate due to the provincial government that made the org. It somewhat handicaps the agency’s ability to do everything it should be, but there is still plenty of good going on. 

The digital group is large enough to be its own org and is doing some tremendous work. 

Vast majority of the workforce is vocal about the desire to keep a remote workforce post pandemic, so hopefully leadership takes note.

Overall, very happy to be part of this org at the current time. Wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who wants no change and to coast at work. For anyone who’s motivated, problem solving, snd wants the opportunity to progress their career, you won’t find a better health or government org.



Lots of gaslighting takes place. This is a place where they manage appearances and is like an old boys club. People know each other from previous lives and everyone is there to make themselves look good and throw the responsibility towel to the next person. Mid manager cover alot of nastiness for top managers and top managers cover alot of nastiness for the VPs. So nothing is authentic, just slapping make up on dirt. The good part is the pay and the work from home. Don't go with high expectations. And yes they fear the media,- again covering up for their bosses. We dont want to look bad please. Laughable. Appearances of discussions are plenty, but only the bosses implement what they know to be true. Lots of circular reasoning. Old peoples home. 

Huge mandate and responsibility for healthcare implementation in the province,  however there is little understanding outside it for what this organization does. Poorly supported by the MOH, with  a lot of chaotic changes internally. Lots of favoritism towards to former CCO and eHealth employees. (Remaining 19 agencies are treated as ugly cousins).  They appear to promote and hire staff based on their prior affiliations to CCO/ eHealth, or people who have a fancy CV (but with little competence). Pay has not kept with the times for the last 5 years given the pay freeze by the govt, and new COLAs did not make up for the multi-year freeze. They are likely attracting sub-standard hires currently given poor pay and their reputation for toxic internal politics.   Those who have stayed are those who have a passion project in public service, or are handcuffed due to their pension.

I was for during probation because I kept asking for more work. I spent every day doing nothing because my boss was an extreme micromanager.

Constantly feeling like you’re going to lose your job because you don’t have any work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I think the culture is OK, but they need to be tougher on managers and directors. They should be accountable for their high salaries.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I worked most of the time remotely and I have to say the worklife balance was really good.

My day to day duties were all clerical tasks.  Faxing, Scanning, booking appointments, and sending off referrals.  Handling the mail, directing all calls to the appropriate locations.  I have been trained and used the EMR systems of AbelMed as well as Clinical Logic.  Everyday was something new, it was an ongoing learning situation. The people that worked right alongside me became wonderful friends.  The hardest part of the job, really there wasn't any hard parts. The occasional difficult patient.  I really wouldn't consider that the hardest though.  The easy part was going into work everyday.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Extremely toxic organization to work for. They are like crab in a bucket all fighting and stepping over each other to get to top. They have no loyalty, integrity or basic human decency. Please avoid this place at all cost.

Everything was a nightmare. Toxic directors\managers. Very disorganized.

Extremely toxic. Please avoid this place at all costs.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Awful, awful and more awful. Overworked.

Some good people but they are all new.


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Highly bureaucratic.  Efficiency is not important.  Self protection and job security is what is important.  Communication is useless and throwing people under the bus is an admired job skill.

Horrible.  Stressful. It sucks.

Blind leading the blind in a very political environment

There are still growing pains related to the recent amalgamation, and some parts of the organization will be better than others, but overall it's a great organization with plenty of interesting work and smart, hard-working people.  Compensation is good, but you won't find a lot of fun extras - it's on a tight budget and doesn't prioritize employee enjoyment.
