Working at Minacs under onstar you will have no access to email, internet, or even a clean source of water. Your every move will be supervised and you'll need to even request a schedule change to use the bathroom (which they'll reprimand you for later) Your breaks and lunches will be assigned to you - and if it just so happens that you work for 5 hours from your lunch to the end of the day, too bad. That's business needs.
They make you bring in a doctor's note if you take more than one consecutive sick days.
The only thing that will make you dread working here more than the customers are the managers.

The only thing that was enjoyable about working here is VTO (getting to leave early) which is increasing in rarity.

Worked there for a solid year and did not get a single shift I enjoyed. Be aware that you will be at the bottom of the shift bid as you are a new group. Yes, people are right when they say you will eventually get the shifts you want BUT that takes working there for more than a year if not more as it works on seniority.  Calls were pretty traumatizing at times so if you aren't strong-minded steer clear of working ems. NO help when it comes to getting support from management in regards to your mental health, don't expect time off when you are stressed out unless you have a doctor's note. If you go to the bathroom too much in your shifts they will come to talk to you, so better get a doctor's note for that. Pathetic management/supervisors so rely on coworkers (pick the right ones as people like to form cliques as if in high school) 

My day starts with doing payroll and adjusting the previous days schedule for my team of 13 people.  As a manager, I have to assign a schedule to cover the floor for all management.  My job mainly is to coach and provide tips on how to sell products and ensure that all policies and procedures are met.
Throughout the day, I am constantly driving the agents to sell products.  I am also answering to upper management.  
The most enjoyable part is my team, working with them, listening to them, just being there for them.
The hardest part of my job is not being able to help an advisor when my 'hands are tied'
I have learned to be an open manager, who has the ability to communicate ideas to decision makers.

The only write-up I ever received after two years at my first job ever through OnStar was for reminding a superior to follow proper safety protocol, it was fully documented and recorded on my annual employee review.
Job requirements increased constantly with more added every couple months, but pay never raised with it. At one point nearly all employees were forced to take hurricane crisis calls from customers in immediate danger with no training.

This is a very difficult post as working for ontar was fun for the first half. The training is fantastic and you feel prepared before starting your position, however you’re working around the clock with no consistent schedule. Sometimes you’re working overnights next month you’re on days with 9 hours between shifts. Management will love you if you’re a yes man, or if you spoil them. QA team will dock you points on calls if they don’t want you in their department so you can get transferred out for not meeting KPIs. Worst place I’ve ever worked. 

month long training is very in depth and the people running the training are excellent at what they do. day to day the job can become quite monotonous. there are plenty of incentives for all levels of staff, and there is always some kind of raffle or contest happening to keep employees involved in the social aspect of work.

On star is a great place to work. Can be stressful. I found my supervisor was terrific. But the managment was very strict. Very fast paced. Pressure seems high. Ive always said that not just onstar but all jobs should be min wage of $15.00 hour. I would recommend working there. Just not for everybody

The job is very fast paced and unforgiving of mistakes for such a low-stakes task. The management was also very difficult to shuffle days around with. I quit because they gave me shifts that I had told them ahead of time I could not fulfil as when work ended I would be unable to get home. They put me on those times anyways and refused to change me around so I could continue working there.

Worked there for almost a year and the location has its quirks but I got paid well and I met some amazing people. The job is simple enough and there is opportunity to grow.

love my coworkers, typical day at a call centre. learned a lot about customer service and dealing with different types of people. Dont really know management. Sales is the hardest part of the job in a sales line and in the order line its dealing with difficult people.
