Spent two months in the company and I had closer colleague relationships with the people outside of my department than in it.  I felt that they were not very inviting or concerned about including a new person in the team. I was told I was doing a great job despite all the societal challenges and that they had good feedback coming from me. I was given projects to help out the whole team which I have done diligently.

Work is rather simple but there are some challenges and tricks you need to learn for certain clients during data entry, which raise up the workload and accentuate the need to be 'specialised' to learn these tricks. 

Later, the projects given to me were removed from my hands, becoming inconvenient for them despite being necessary.

With familiarity seems to come a form of lack of respect. As time went on, I didn't feel as welcome as several frustrating events accumulated. But because it came from higher than me, I didn't question it. Their lack of interest in my work, the way you being talked to and the moody behaviour from my surroundings, in general,  tanked my interest and enthusiasm to work with the company. I have slowly experienced burnout over time from an attitude that impacted me and more towards my last month.

There is an interesting culture of work but that is not supported strongly enough by higher-ups with good faith, which ends up with arbitrary decisions made. When the right people are needed to be present for certain talk, they are not here or come too late to discuss it. They strive to reach a standard but unfortunately, fail by putting the wrong people in the wrong place while not keeping an attentive eye on their employee's conditions or mental health. As a consequence, they do not also keep an eye on their older employees.

The equipment works but is not all levelled on the same quality. Some equipment needs to be replaced; others to be repaired and some, to have more of the same equipment per employee.

In the end, what you expect at first is not what you get at the end.

Arrive on site, clock in, report to a supervisor, and begin your assigned duties. 

This is quite a relaxed work environment so you can work here until you find your forever home. Tasks are incredibly simple and nothing is too physically demanding on the body. There is also a lack of work occasionally, so you won't be working for the entire shift, but rather cleaning up garbage or helping in other departments such as packing. 

You won't learn any new skills here or have anything credible enough to advance your career. Not all colleagues in your department will put in the same amount of effort, which can cause stress and mental fatigue. 

The only enjoyable aspects would be having conversations with other people at the jobsite and physical stimulation from the work you do.

The most negative experience I had with working here was the hiring process for new employees. Employees hired after I was were hit and miss. A lot of them don't seem like they are qualified for the job they've applied for, but are hired regardless. A lot of them lack social skills and are extremely awkward to socialize with. They were usually released after a couple of weeks upon being hired. 

My last memory of this job was a team lead telling me he has multiple DUI's and a history of violence in his youth.










I was hired into the Customer Care department in February of this year; the atmosphere is laid-back and casual however you are expected to ensure your responsibilities and deadlines are met. Training is very comprehensive, yet not overwhelming.

Management is wonderful - fair, understanding and open to feedback; very easy to talk to. Honestly - no complaints here.

Occasional free products and giveaways/draws, free snacks, free lunches every now and then; cupcakes and other snacks to mark staff birthdays and work-aversaries - just some of the great little perks management has thought up to recognize their staff's hard work and dedication.

I've worked in Customer Service for over 20 years and I like the fact that at Ottawa Logistics, we are not dealing with the public directly; there is no hot-desking (taking any available workspace; we all have our own dedicated space in Customer Care) and the on-site IT assistance has been extremely useful.

Good Drug and Dental benefits after 6 months. Starting wage is above minimum wage and there is definitely room for advancement.

The most difficult part of my job is deciphering what the delivery and pick-up drivers are saying over the visual doorbell when arriving at our location :)

Ottawa Logistics is a small but growing fulfillment centre with a lot of potential. I enjoyed my time working at Ottawa Logistics and have met friends from my time working there. 

The warehouse and office team are very friendly and fosters a collaborative team environment that is positive and uplifting (when there is an absence of stress). There is room for growth and cross training when the needs of the company require this however the pay may not reflect the immediate changes and demands of the role of a warehouse associate.

Management tries (emphasis) wholeheartedly to be good managers and leaders to the team however I believe that without proper resources and training, they fall short; on the job experience is simply not enough. 

My recommendation for Ottawa Logistics is to hire an external human resources. Without a human resources with previous education and experience in this role; the company is not able to retain nor attract good talent. Additionally, the professionalism in the workplace is lacking and this is often observed from upper management which trickles down the ladder.

Great company to work for. The work environment is relaxed and supportive, even during the busiest seasons. There is a strong sense of camaraderie, with plenty of laughter, friendly colleagues, and team members who are always approachable and willing to help.
Scheduling is flexible, and management is highly accommodating when employees' needs change. As a parent of young children, I have found that flexibility invaluable over the years.
The General Manager is especially supportive and genuinely cares about her staff. She consistently advocates for her team, whether that means supporting employees in difficult customer interactions or providing understanding and assistance when personal circumstances affect their ability to work. Her commitment to employee well-being creates a workplace culture where people feel valued, respected, and supported.

I have been working at Ottawa Logistics in the Customer Care department for one year and very much enjoy my time here. 

Employees are respected and valued. Management is approachable, accessible and does their best to meet the needs of employees and offers a benefits package after 6 months. Employee feedback on processes is valued as well as a sense of teamwork. Parking is free and close to the entrance.

The space has climate control, something not every warehouse environment offers which greatly increases the comfort and well-being of employees. 

With experimented logs people always ready to help, I had easily learned how to work in 3PL company. My integration has been quickly completed. It’s amazing to see how humble are people from the CEO, the General Manager to the entire staff. Awesome people who work together to meet the voice of the customer at the end of the day.
Using barcodes tech, it was easy to perform task such as Picking, packing, shipping and sometimes finding how to return to shelves, the items wrongly picked. Very nice TechShip web environment. 
The management is always thinking about the well-being of their staff.

Very friendly environment and the management treats employees with respect. Work can be fast paced with the typical stress expected from a physical labor job. Good benefits relevant to the physical aspect of the job. Free lunches on occasion and free snacks/coffee while I was employed were very nice. Limited room for advancement in the company (at least for the laborors), however they offer machine training to employees, which comes with increased pay and job security, as well as adding a fun aspect to the work.

not the most horrible place I have worked before. They pay almost minimum wage and no benefits. There is lots of manual labour which is to be expected with a warehouse job. Managment is quick to place blame and not investigate where a problem or mistake happened. they are really good about needing time off if needed. safety was a constant concern while I was there. damaged racking that needs replacing and machinery that is in desperate need of repair is a daily issue. it's a good job if you need something quick but I would not recommend a long-term career.

I’ve worked here for two years now and can honestly say that it is such a welcoming and fun environment to work in. Management really goes above and beyond to make the environment an enjoyable place to be, it feels like one big family. Hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and ideas are always encouraged and listened to. It is definitely a team effort keeping everything running smoothly, but management is very appreciative of all the hard work everyone puts in. Overall a fun place to work, and hands down the best manager I have ever worked for.
