Very fast paced, high expectations, limited training provided to office staff and it takes 1-2 years of growing from mistakes to eventually learn the necessities and become comfortable in your role (for office jobs here).  If you are just starting out in your career, and looking to work hard to grow your knowledge/skills, this is the place for you. 

Top performers who prove themselves to be capable of handling things will be awarded additional opportunities for more workload, but there is not much appreciation or positive feedback from management (in sales dept. ...BUT I'm hopeful this could change)

Bonuses or financial incentives are non-existent (for office staff).  Only UNPAID overtime is allowed for office staff (and on rare occassions requested to voluntarily work unpaid overtime by management).  Salary offered is low compared to the job requirements and skills needed to be successful. The small annual COL increases against inflation will absolutely hold you back from personally progressing financially, whilst the company sees significant benefit from your increased outputs.... but hey, at least after 1-2 years you will have developed skills & experience that other employers actually value.

Lots of great people and longstanding employees who are very knowledgable (but more of these people are leaving over time). The ones who care and have mastered the formula are great people to work with, but not always able to help train new recruits due to being continuously limited on staff and heavily loaded with work in virtually every department.  

Business factors ever changing and  urgent directives are distributed or adapted on an ongoing basis by executive leadership (as they should). Keep your head up, keep learning, be flexible and follow instructions or be prepared to justify the intent behind your decisions, output, and priorities.

Executive team recently doing much better  with the communication of instructions but most necessary job knowledge and past instructions are not organized or readily available. Info will come in bits and pieces as you figure things out over your first 1-2 years.

It's a great place to work, particularly if options are limited and you need the growth/experience. Mostly flexible (within reason) on things like taking time off for emergencies or taking time here/there for an appointment etc.

Any promises of future compensation or career progression that " will come later, just keep doing what you're doing ". I'd suggest getting those signed and in writing if you are counting on those promises to materialize....

Good luck, overall I enjoyed my time there and feel I am much better for having worked there with some great people.  I hope that management can eventually change their disposition towards viewing their GREAT people as easily replaceable.

Employees (specifically in sales department) struggling to complete tasks efficiently due to lack of fundamental knowledge on forging processes. If you are patient enough then in 2 or 3 years there will be some sort of progress. 

Absolutely no training provided, however you can always create one by yourself! Remember that there is no one responsible for it! They will throw papers at you to learn everything without proper plan. Funny enough the training on order processing system takes only 10 minutes. Perhaps you have to be genius to figure it out. Eventually it leads to overall higher error rates, cost company time and resources, consequently - high turnover rates. Inside sales people are unable to handle customer's inquires, damaging their own reputation because of incompetence. Don't forget to add the frustration from the outside sales department who are even more limited in familiarity of products and pricing structure. 

Low morale existing at workplace. People feel pressured with speed and demands on productivity. The frustration comes immediately resulting a real disengagement from employee's side. The immediate or long lasting concerns will be denied by management so do not expect any kind of support. Get ready to show the numbers cause nothing else matters (although it does not entirely depend on you). Zero cooperation with engineering team. Any questions will be turned down with comments about your worthless. 

Absolutely the worst experience in my life.  No other comments needed. 

Typical day was a standard 8 hours, paid lunch so stuck on site.   40 minutes of break.  Standard stuff there, great co workers, who all share a sense of comraderie.   Supervision is decent at best, due to constantly being neutered by incompetent and rotating management.   If you are the kind of person who is agreeable, doesn't have any free thinking ambitions this is a great place to work.  If you are the kind of person who will challenge the status quo for continuous improvement you will be overlooked for promotions, and growth even when constantly exceeding all expectations and showing a desire for more.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Disconnect from management to workers. That includes communication and performance evaluations. Managers in the Brantford Location are making payroll decisions for employees in the Paris location.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Coworkers are amazing (Paris location) pretty laid back for environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Generally have an assigned lathe or mill to work at. Odd time you’ll float around the shop and work on other machines.

The CEO of the company is such a great guy with vision and a complete understanding of the business. Patriot has a very forward-thinking mindset, especially for Information Technology  Systems.  The culture is very warm and friendly and feels very family-oriented.  I never clashed with anyone there in the two years managing the IT department. I enjoyed coming into work every day and found it very rewarding with the team I inherited. Overall, they treat people fairly and they provide a workplace that is not so stressful and very supportive.

-either 10 hrs running 5 saws or material handling, sometimes both.
-learned alot about blueprint reading.
management is one of the most important aspects of a job. with out the proper leadership workers spent too much time running in circles and getting nothing done or having to redo work.
-i've always had great co-workers, they can't be faulted for managements lack of direction.
-hardest part of the job is trying to apply yourself and learn something new....just dosn't seem to work here.
-at the end of the day seeing all the production you managed to get done even with the lack of organization of the department.

Left here in a huff after a bad manager. Really was short sighted...grass is greener on the other side of the fence....not so much. I made some amazing friendships and had some great experiences. 
Got to work on fantastic projects, travelled, met allot of great people. 
Had great people to work with...
A couple of bad managers changed everything...

Miss working with the best team one could ask for.

nothing es bad in here is a hard job but it the option

The last couple years really put this place down the drain. There are some really good people here, but management is the biggest downfall of this company. From favoritism, unfair pay, poor communication, very poor leadership, no accountability, improper tooling (if any!), improper machine training, and the list goes on. Everyone on the floor does not want to be there.

I would get to work and punch in, head to the locker room get dressed and head to the floor. the people i worked with were easy to get along with and helped each other out.
The hardest part of the job would be the heat during hot days in the summer 
The most enjoyable part of the job was when they had lunches/ get together for the staff.
