This is an excellent place to work if you are interested in a work-life balanced career in sales. The products are fairly easy to learn and the staff is friendly. I was a part of the sales team and was given a poor account list to say the least.. Not shying away from a challenge I tried to salvage the business I had, gain new business and learn the business all at once with no previous experience. Good challenge right? I was released a year to the day of hiring for not being able to increase sales when my immediate sales manager AND regional sales manager where aware the budget was severely out of wack and attaining growth was literally impossible. Guess that's how it goes when you work for a publicly traded company.

Blows the mind. This place has been struggling for years. The answer from management is to increase worker workload. This was effective once or twice but now just adds to the culture of frustration. New management here would be welcome, the existing managers are not willing to change their approach.

The difficulties keeping people makes the company accept workers it shouldn’t have to, and these are the ones who stay increasing the caustic atmosphere here.

very busy and fulfilling results in production

You must be 18+ to work at ppg. They have very good employe discounts. Salary isnt the best but you do get bonuses every month when you do their monthly objectives. Management can be very good like it can be very stressful, it all depends on who is the manager. For my experiences, all managers i had were young people on their first management position so they werent very stricked.

Depends on which production line you are. All the lines have amazing supervisor and supportive managers and seniors. Initial few months you can expect to have body pain but it becomes really easy to work as the day goes on and becomes fun to work once you get used to it. The management is really good they never really lay off or fire people unless you make a serious mistake. Altogether its a nice fun place to work. 

The job it self is a good job but management can make or break a job and management has broke this job. No communication on what is happening in the store, management who just wants to sit down and do nothing but smoke all day. The job needs all new management or management be  trained  On how to deal with other parts of management not doing there job

- Really lousy pay and benefits 
- Abusive customers
- Nobody backs you up 
- Upper management is the quintessential old school mentality 
- They expect you to work overtime without perks or pay
- My fellow staff members were awesome to work with. They were the only thing that made the job tolerable

PPG Refinish Canada was the worst business I’ve worked in over 15+ years of outside sales.  Weak senior leadership and an exceptionally poor management team at the regional level.   A testament to why they lost so much market share in the last 10 years.

Great people to work with, Hours were good, 7:30 to 4:00 with lots of over time except in winter months. Alway busy and for me the best part of this job was the driving. Hardest part was some of the customers request of wher to put the glass.

They consistently push for higher results while investing less and less into market development. Training tools are effective. But very poor to no effort is made toward generating new clientele.
