PURE METAL GALVANIZING

First and foremost if you don't want to work in +40C or -25C weather while doing physical labour, then don't even waste your time with this company cause those are the working conditions for the Summer and Winter. The atmosphere of this company is toxic, literally. You are out on the floor and you have acidic fumes, ash, and rust particulates in the air and covering everything from the floor to the forklifts to the hand tools that you are supposed to be using and the PPE gear they provide is not adequate to filter it. Nothing and I mean nothing is ever cleaned properly and the lunchroom, washroom, and change room look like they haven't been updated since the company opened. They constantly duck tape the holes in their air hoses instead of splicing them together, or just cutting them back past the hole. They leave oil spills on the ground often because management doesn't order and "Absorbal". They don't even repair holes in their roof! Their maintenance department does no preventative maintenance on anything, not even their overhead and breach cranes. They only repair things when they break so be prepared to be working with alot of half broken tools. 

Management always preaches "Safety First", yet this place averaged 1 workplace accident a week where people had to go to the hospital and they aren't making the maintenance staff repair things, I'm surprised management haven't been sacked by the owners or sued for incompetence by the workers or the MOL. Even though there are Team Leaders, Supervisors, Managers, and Lead Hands all working at once, there is no set "command structure". One person will tell you how to do one thing, and the other will completely contradict them. This company has no official training regimen they just expect you to do what everyone else does, but everyone does things differently and people will say what the others do is wrong, go figure. Now if you don't do something exactly the way a "Team Leader" wants you to do it even though there are multiple ways of doing things at this company, they complain to the Manager and say that you aren't doing your job properly and call you to the office. Supervisors and Managers at this company seem to be slightly racist against people of a certain ethnic background as they are always arguing with and giving them a harder time while giving people of their own background the arguably easier things to do so beware of that. They don't like you to ask questions, they want sheep that just follow them.

On the upside, people that are on the same level as you are very friendly and joke around alot but that's about it. My advice is to as far away as possible from this company as it is not worth the very high risk to your health for the amount of money they are paying.

The work environment is excellent. We have very dedicated employees, tenure with lots employees rich with experience and very strong teams. Everyone works together to resolve issues and the team dynamic is strong and supportive.

I have worked at Pure Metal for many years and the best part of this job are the people I work with and our strong leadership. It is a great place to work with many opportunities.

I am given sufficient time, resources and flexibility to get my job done. I have learned a lot about the galvanizing process during my time here. Management sets clear goals for our department, and is supportive in giving us the tools to achieve these goals. Our workplace culture is very deadline oriented with a focus on serving our customers. There is a pride in our long history and industry reputation. Many employees have been here longer than 20 years. The hardest part of the job are the tight timelines, but, they are not unreasonable. The best part of the working here is having the support of a large company behind us, while still maintaining the family feel of a smaller business. I also like that our processes aren't extremely complicated and difficult to manage. The goal of continuous improvement isn't overwhelming.

Pure Metal Galvanizing (Mississauga) is an intensely busy work environment with emphasis on data & metrics to meet targets and goals. Each day is different from the last in terms of what customer demands are and the vast amount of materials that flows through the plant over three 8 hour shifts. I recommend this company for people who are self motivated and willing to work hard (physically and mentally).

enjoyed my employment and learned many new skills in the process and procedure of galvanizing structural steel. I believe my experience there will help further my knowledge in development of sustainable architecture.

I have no comment. They do not seem to appreciate their employees or the work they do for them. They are big on segregation of duties. Even as their Controller, I was not allowed to see or do certain things in that company. Things a Controller would normally do.

better workers are asked to pick up the slack of lazy workers. People don't use their heads, resulting in a very dangerous work environment. Management doesn't take responsibility for any of their actions. Avoid this place for your health and min

The organization does believe in safety first. There is an investment in training people. They do have a good benefit package as well . Lots of long term employees as they give opportunity to grow people internally. Its been a positive experience so far with good co-workers.

Overall good place to work ,
Working with my teammates in the checker station brings a lot of fun to the job.
I enjoy some of the detailed work we need to do for the customer and everyday it's always different product tasks so it doesn't have a production line feel to it.

A typical day at work is fairly busy with daily tasks and customer inquiries. Management is helpful and encouraging in regards to completing monthly and annual goals. The best part of the job is the people I work with everyday.
