These people have no idea what they are doing. They expect people to come from all across the country.  They won't send you for a road test until you get there. At the end of the week at that. Most people get sent home by the end of that or the road test. You wont get paid for your travel or time. You will only make minimum wage until you are done all that anyway. They will charge you for your accommodations.  Doesn't sound like much at first but $25 a day is $800 by the end of the month. While you're paying rent or mortgage somewhere else. In alberta almost every company pays a sub of at least $125 for food and accommodations.  This is the first place I've ever heard of that charges you to live in their town and work for them. 

They are extremely disorganized.  No one has any idea what the other is doing. Dispatch is a nightmare. I was one of the 5% that made it through all their hoops. Was up there for another 2 weeks and work 2 days while they were billing me to live in that little town with nothing to do. I left for a funeral and then was told I was let go. I still have their gear and they expect me to pay to send it back to them. They refuse to pay you if you dont agree with anything they tell you. 

Even if you make it through everything you will be down thousands before you get a pay check. 

If you have any self respect at all, stay away from this company. I have no idea how they are even still in business.

Oilfield work.

PVT used to be a much better place to work. Changes in management and company have created a culture of deceit shrouded in secrecy. Hiring policies are indicative of inept management focused on profits at the expense of employees paycheques. Too many employees for the work available, with a pumped up false-positive “family values” narrative in-line with multinational corporations who couldn’t care less about their employees.

Equipment is mixed quality, with much of it being run down. Shady tank inspections done for aging equipment that can’t pass.

Shop and facilities in disarray from absorbing other companies, with executive level management incapable of cleaning up and organizing.

Negative atmosphere due to inept leadership. Staff and management are disjointed and disconnected from each other. Good set of guys from dispatch down. Maintenance staff are an awesome group but hamstrung by the COO when it comes to getting work done, in favour of his micromanaging and angry outbursts due to his own deficiencies and inability to heed others advice.

Overall would not recommend supporting nor working at this place in its current form. Find another company that cares about their employees to work at out here until changes are made. Currently a toxic and unhealthy work environment.

Very dishonest company with very immature managers at all levels . These oilfield companies are much like the Government that have adopted a systematic conspiracy format to screw you over every chance they get .  These people cannot manage their own lives or families let alone a group of men or an organization !!!  The men and  women in management positions who work for these companies have typical oilpatch personalities with bad attitudes that are groomed and programmed to be robots not-to- mention very deceptive mentalities . Take a very good look at all the reviews on indeed.ca regarding oilfield companies and see the similarities , there not all wrong or put there because of disgruntal employees . That's what they would have you believe ! All these companies are in steady recruitment mode constantly because of the same reasons , they are educated idiots with control issues and personality traits that are very questionable and undesirable to a large extent . My advice , find a different industry to work in and one where you are valued and you can associate yourself with people that have been properly developed from birth .

Opinions are unappreciated and ignored when you try to make suggestions for improvement. As a mechanic you are bandaid fixing units and the company does not want to invest money into actually fixing the units.They are more worried about saving a couple bucks rather than fixing units properly, even when safety is a concern with said unit. As a employee i didn't feel like they wanted to invest anything into my career, no help with education, no tool, boot, or any other type of allowance. Even though all of that and more was promised to me up starting there. Communication was severely lacking between departments - dispatch, management, shop staff etc. 
Apathy runs deep inside this company, and it all trickles down from the top. No one there cares about making things better they just worry about their personal goals and bottom line, and screw everyone else.

I am new to oil patch. I have been driving class one 25 years. Figured I would give it a try.  I know nothing on vac or tank side because I am a sand hauler. But I dealt and talked too dispatch on sand,vac, and tank side of company. All of them have been excellent to deal with. Compare my last dispatchers to my sand dispatch now. That Lady is a god send too trucking. All dispatchers at this company have been great. The bad reviews I have read  I have never experienced that here. Field supervisors have all been great too deal with. You want a great company too work for here it is. come in with positive attitude and you will be happy.  I am not office employed. Upper  management been excellent too. Safety is #1 at this company. Company policy is LIFE. Live Incident Free Everyday.

My experience with PVT was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I was terminated abruptly with no meaningful explanation, no proper investigation, and no opportunity to address concerns or defend myself.

Communication from management was poor throughout my employment, expectations were unclear, and decisions appeared to be made arbitrarily rather than based on facts or performance. The lack of transparency and basic respect shown to employees is alarming.

If you value job security, professionalism, or being treated fairly, I would strongly caution against working for this company. Based on my experience, PVT does not support its employees and does not handle issues in a reasonable or respectful manner.

Since starting with PVT I have learned another aspect of dispatching. The management has embraced my style of dispatch and I am pleased that I have made a bit of a positive change. PVT tries very hard to keep the small company culture, as in doing events for all employees and recognizing milestones. I appreciate the open door aspect to approaching all levels of management.  
The hardest part of my job is the length of my shifts and night shift. 
The most enjoyable is when my drivers laugh and joke with me. Makes the day brighter

Since Kurt Campbell has taken back control of the company, everything has improved. Kurt takes the time to get feedback from Drivers and you can feel like your opinions get heard. I started out as a Swamper and worked my way up to a driver. I've been trained on a variety of equipment and seen raises without asking for them. Management is easy to work with. PVT is willing to make schedules for drivers and they respect personal boundaries you have on certain jobs you may not be willing to take. If you keep your truck clean, do you paperwork properly and have a good work ethic, you will have a successful career at PVT. 
If anyone is interested in joining PVT, I recommend asking to speak with Kurt Campbell personally.

They put you in sleepers with no water at times and when they clear snow they always take out the power. You have to pay for meals which are not available for you when shift ends because night shift will take your supper plate for next day lunch. Don't even try to get ppe because of the office hours. Office staff hates workers and management doesn't care or want to hear you. So many accidents happen at PVT and management will throw you under the bus.  Think about it lots of work out there and they still can't place employees. STAY AWAY FROM PVT. 

It is by far the most stressful place I have ever worked. The culture is very petty and childish. Managers are continually fighting each other. Employees are continually stabbing each other in the back over the pettiest stuff. I had been a school bus driver for 20 years and it saddens me to say that the culture that is bread at PVT is quite similar to middle school behaviour.  I drove 5600 kms in 3 days to start this job and turns out that pretty much everything I was told over the phone that got me there turned out to be lies of the highest grade. Run away is all I can say.
