Paper Route

The Paper Route I commonly substitute for my friend is a hard working but low paying job, a typical day on the job is packing your paper carrier full of paper and delivering them neatly and correctly to the appropriate houses. What I learned when doing this job is that even though your are making very low pay, you are helping your community by spreading the news and recent activity in your community.The management although I do not know much of what goes on at the office, they do deliver the right amount of papers in a neat order by the side of your residence.The workplace culture is very calm in my opinion, whenever I was doing the route I rarely saw any other people doing their route. The hardest part of the job was simply whenever the papers would fall out of the carrier and make a mess commonly in the rain. The easiest part of the job was how polite people would be if you made any mistakes, for example if you were to deliver to the incorrect house or give them the wrong type of paper.

I began in my late elementary years and I thought it was a good occupation to take part in at the time. There was a specific schedule even, when and where to deliver, which helped me improve my organization skills. However, this occupation is really time-consuming, so it might be difficult to maintain a balance between your workload. Overall, it is a good occupation, to begin with, to earn money and to learn the hardship of earning money.

a day at work was 2 days a week delivering 60 papers to houses, I learned how to handle money and be outgoing with others I managed the all the money that I didn't have to pay the people to drop off the papers at my house it was very time consuming because I would have to put them all together before it got to late to deliver, the hardest part of the job was when it was raining and very cold because I had to walk very fast so the papers weren't wet, the most enjoyable part of the job was all the exercise I got and how I love the outside

Delivering one of the local newspapers to approx. 40 houses around my area. Also did work every 3 weeks. 
Learnt about punctuality, how to deal with upset customers, improved social skills considerably. Overall a very positive experience as a first time job. 
The most difficult part about my job wasn't difficult at all, that was assembling the newspapers, bagging them and delivering. 
My absolute favourite part of my job was getting to do collections and talking to all my neighbors and customers.

The people I deliver to are very nice, and I enjoy being able to see them and talk to them, The walk during delivery is also enjoyable. What I don't enjoy is how much the pay differs, one month I could collect $200 dollars and the next only recieve $90, I also don't enjoy having $25 taken out of my bank account every month, especially when I don't recieve a lot of money so it doesn't balance out what is being taken.

I like the hour walk every day and I learned how to communicate to strangers fairly well through this job. The management could be better. a large portion of the time when I would call my regional manager for anything, she would be away or on vacation all year round. Which made this the hardest part of the job. For a young person who want to make some pocket money, I would say this is a great thing to do. But like I said before, the communication is poor. So have a little patience with them and you will have fun doing this.

i personally found a paper route very stressful and slow paced. putting all the papers together is slow and takes time and only for 5 cents a newspaper. i walked around delivering them to the doorstep sometimes in the pouring rain or a wind storm, i found that very difficult for me but i do believe that it is a good start job for a younger person looking for some extra cash.

Great first job, only two days of work a week.  The flyers and paper are delivered to your house every Wednesday and Thursday.  You must then assembly the papers, roll them and wrap them in a rubber band and then put in an plastic bag in case it rains.  Worse part is collecting but the plus side is that is when you get paid.

you recieve stacks of news paper in the morning at your doorstep and would be required to deliver them before 12pm. i learned how to be on time and to effectively complete a task. the management was always a phone call away. I had no co-workers as I was a paper boy. the hardest part was just making the papers. I enjoyed going out and delivering them.

Was fun at the beginning. Didn't like when it was winter, was way too cold to be doing that. Management was also poor. Typical work day was coming home from school, putting papers together and delivering them out by 6pm. Hardest part was doing it in the winter forsure. Most enjoyable part was that it was my first job.
