What is the best part of working at the company?
The guys I worked with. the pay was good. Work was pretty steady. The equipment was always in good working order as well as the company trucks. Never had to worry about being paid on time

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The superintendent at the time never listened to his workers was alway the guys fault when something didn’t go right to his plan. The person above superintendent didn’t listen when I told him guys were going to leave company because of the superintendent at the time. Nobody seem to care about the workers. Now saying that i know the old superintendent isn’t there anymore that was when I worked there as he passed away. This is their Calgary operation I worked at. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
When I was there it wasn’t the best because of the superintendent always yelling at guys getting angry having a power trip. With that being said moral was
Down lots of days but the guys I worked with in the field were awesome guys 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Tearing roof and laying new roof in usually worked from 10 to12 hr days. Work is physical and trade can be demanding. Day involved clean up constantly

They have decent benefit packages

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Upper management not knowing how to run or support the rest of the staff. Whether in the office or the field.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, expected to do more for less, never supported, they have the mindset of everyone being replaceable, they go through staff faster than I’ve ever seen. If you aren’t fired, you quit from pressure. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, walking on eggshells. Every so often you’re wondering if your job is safe no matter how much you work or how much you put in. Some days can be great but it can change very quickly.

No shortage of work in all departments, Parker Johnston is busy in both British Columbia and Alberta. Minimum 40 hour work weeks with the possibility of overtime if approved by management. Advancement opportunities for those who show the desire to learn and take initiative. Management is uncompetitive by expecting workers to provide their own tools and equipment, and only providing highly specialized tools on certain situations. The workplace is ethnically diverse and most staff find it comfortable. Most difficult part of the workplace is having to fight for mediocre wage increases and the expense of wearing out personal tools and equipment. 

At Parker Johnston there is a need for being physically fit and able to endure while uphold a "lets gets this done right the first time" mentality. Many times management was very strict and obnoxious to the point of being verbally bombarded. The people are wonderful and treat each other like family.

Cutting edge equiptment, top of the line shop, competitive wages, and employees are treated really well. I had fun at the same time as learning lots and forming great relationships with fellow employees. If I needed tools or materials they were there same day usually. Incredible team, loved working there.


The work environment is really casual. It causes unnecessary confusion and stress while working as to who is responsible for what.  Also, they are hiring and firing people all the time without any good reasons too. Job security is very very very low. They dont care about their people.

The WORST company you will ever work for! In the field wise.

More turn over than McDonald's drive through... On site staff are either drug addicted, don't care or completely inexperienced.  Aside from a handful of really skilled and cool people!!!

Management is extremely demeaning and rude when talking you. Always talking down to you.  Workload is too much for 1 person to handle and when mistakes are made, the blame starts.  Not worth sacrificing your mental health

Co-workers are all great people! Benefits are amazing and they seem to really care about their employees. They are also willing to help you to upgrade your education! It's a win-win.

Company was established a year or two before I joined. There are bound to be inefficiencies with such a new businesses. The Management seemed to be decent, The workers were in general inexperienced
