Honestly it was a shitshow working here, super strict no freedom no flexibility really if you want a day off for a birthday you don't get it you have to switch shifts with another and you don't even really get a warning if you miss one day they just tell you that you're going to get fired and, I found myself not really wanting to go to work instead of me actually wanting to go to work, it was a bad pay and they make you pay for these awful clothing pieces that resemble very closely to hospital scrubs trust me in this it feels like you're about to go in do some surgery on someone take out some insides grind them into a burger use the blood of the sauce that's what it feels like, also really bad management it's $40 for a new outfit and if you get the tiniest stain on it be sure to pay another $40 if it gets wet from walking in the rain literally no dirt on it be ready to pay $40 it's absolutely horrendous like I found myself paying more money for the clothes rather than me making money I almost went into debt because of this so all in all awful running of the management awful way of clothing and whatever supervisors are awesome but managers are just dog shiz like absolute dog ,also very high competitive nature and that everyone is trying to strive to be the next supervisor and people a lot of people are just competitive and trying to act like they're better, there are some good people though I throw myself making some really good friends there but all in all like none of us really liked it and it was bad real bad food is good at the only good thing is really the free lunch but everything else is just bad.
I got fired in August thank God, scummy thing is it was right before the end of parole, over a headache lol

A common 8 hour shift consisted of both serving customers and cleaning. Serving meant exhibiting excellent customer service, taking accurate orders, picking up the orders and multitasking efficiently. Cleaning entailed shining the steel surfaces, sanitizing food containers, stocking up the condiments and cups or anything that needed to be filled, and much more. I learned a lot about teamwork, and communication in a team, also how to multitask efficiently. Management was exceptional, they were able to create relationships with the employees while maintaining a respected position of authority, and they were always willing to give hours and allow you to learn new positions. The people I worked with made my job a fun job, there was very little drama, my co-workers were honest, hardworking, and easy to get along with. I found the hardest part being at the windows in the cold or when it was hot outside, because we were not allowed to wear coats or gloves or hats and when it was warm the cooling system had never really worked. I enjoyed the environment in my workplace most, where laughing was common but we knew when to be serious, where you could trust the people around you and ask for help.

The General Manager and the co-owners are arrogant, irresponsible, penny pinchers who only care about making money. An extremely high turnover rate as staff are treated like absolute garbage by the General Manager. Peters' Drive-In refuses to reveal their annual profits, which is highly suspicious right there. Staff get yelled at by supervisors when it's busy, and it's beyond cruel.
There is no staff morale, and staff are treated like a number by the General Manager and co-owners. If customers saw all that goes on behind closed doors, Peters would be out of business in all 3 of its locations.
They don't like to pay their staff overtime, and make staff pay for their uniform, hat and fleece jacket, instead of absorbing the cost for the staff. They lie that the onions are fresh, let alone diced daily, when it fact the onions come from a supplier in plastic bags that are stored in the walk-in refrigerator. They lie about their milkshakes having fresh fruit, as most of their milkshakes contain syrups.
The company has a lot to hide, and is very unaccountable to its staff.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! DO NOT WORK HERE NO MATTER WHAT! In the time that I worked here I was so disrespected by MANY of the other employees. I was called stupid at least once a shift whether it was to my face or I overheard fellow employees it happened, they had 1 staff bathroom for the 10+ employees they had on EACH shift and we were told not to use the guest bathroom even if there were 4-5 other people waiting for the washroom, they charge you more then they should for your uniform that you have no choice to wear and you could get the exact same thing for less then what they charge and better quality, the manager threatened to fire someone because they got INJURED ON THE JOB! They would give the staff their lunch 30 MINUTES after they started at 10 o'clock in the morning, so we either ate our lunch that we brought or they provided and would be hungry the rest of the shift until 6pm. 

Hated working here! The owner does not treat her workers right. If you are working here be prepared to get down on your knees and scrub the tiles with toothbrush, be prepared to get on your knees and scrub the floors with brushes. I need to know how to give back change without calculators because the machine thing does not tell you how much to give back, you need to know that math in your head. Be prepared to clean if you are not liked by the supervisors... If it is busy get ready to not have your breaks and only have a 15 minute break out of the full 8 hours you are standing.

The management was very badly executed, resulting in confusion, abuse to employees, discomfort and overall a very negative work place. I had started working from the opening day to 4 months later, I was able to see the development of the company and get to know what a day on the job was to contain. Sadly mine and many others work experience at Peters drivein was one of the worst, I would not recommend this job to anyone in todays society, individuals deserve to be treated with so much more respect then what they brought to the table.

Scheduling is very strict, if you are a student or someone with a lot on the go, DO NOT WORK HERE. I am a student, and made it clear in my interview that university is my top priority. I was scheduled 40 hours for my first week and was threatened with termination when I asked for reduced hours. I was told that any other changes in my scheduling would result in termination. You need to pay for your uniform, which is ridiculous. That being said, most of the staff and supervisors were incredibly welcoming and patient. The people who work there are helpful and kind. 

Peter's Drive in in Cqlgary. Does not follow Employment Standards requirements in many ways. The main one being that you are required to pay $30 for the designated uniforms. It is deducted off of your pay cheque. Secondly, there is severe lack of mutual respect among 'higher ups'. I've heard employees being referred to as stupid amongst co workers, and employee issues are discussed and known about among all staff. There is no discretion. 
However, coworkers make the day go by so quickly. A very fast paced environment, good pay, and reliable hours. 

I worked there for about 3 hours before quitting because of it not being a good fit for me. Once I talked to them about no flexible hours as school is my top priority, the administration lady threw a fit. Had to pay for a uniform and was told they usually don’t refund the money. Very rude management, yells over nothing. Breaks can be cut short if they’re busy and need people. No flexibility for hours AT ALL! AVOID at all costs! So many red flags. You’re not a human-being in their eyes. You’re a robot to do their dirty work.

A typical day starts bright and early with lots of prep. Once the doors open to the public, the craziness begins. Always something to do. Summer months are busy, while the colder months can be quite slow. Management/owners are difficult at best. High turn over and high amount of foreign workers. Hardest part is dealing with the owners. Most enjoyable part is the end of your shift and going home!
