Pioneer Gas Station

A typical day working at the gas station was very hands-on. doing multiple things from selling pastries to items needing a photo ID was all apart of the job. I learned how to speak to customers and ask for what is needed to make their services easier and better. My manager was an amazing person and my co-workers were very helpful in teaching me the critical task of the job. The hardest part of the job was selling tobacco products, the reason being that there were so many different types, sizes and names to remember. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to learn more and more each day. 

This experience has affected my life in many different aspects. It has had a positive impact on my intellectual, social, professional and inter-personal development.

Being a part of the administrative team helped me understand the importance of critical thinking skills, time management, and academic and intellectual competence. Moreover, that involvement improved my computer skills, communication skills, conflict management and leadership skills.

I enjoyed working at Pioneer, I learned how to deal with costumers.
my co-workers were great people, my boss was an amazing person to be around, and a good teacher. 
The hardest part of the job was having to work nights alone, and having to go back and forth from working nights, to days. also my co-workers would sometimes come in half an hour to an hour late without warning so I had to stay with no clue when they would show up.

I enjoyed the costumers, my co-workers, and the work.

working in a gas station is a great experience for any customer service. i met different customers everyday with different way of thinking, and i had to reach and understand how they think in seconds. worked with a lot of cash during my shift and people get really upset when the price of the gas go higher. As the gas station cashier i had to understand that and act kindly with it to show my support and understanding to the customer. most of the gas stations have a poor managing system, where workers dont have a lot of rights.

My experience with Pioneer was really good. During my time there we had a gas war going on which made our station really busy, however, despite how busy it was the staff and management couldn't have been more helpful. They were always nice and calm and it made me learn alot from them. The head office was always cooperative with any issues going on as well. In conclusion I enjoyed my time there and learned a lot.

It has its up's and downs,but the atmosphere is good 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Being with the customers is great,having a busy day is the best day

Expected to multitask: be cashier, clean the station, monitor those at the pumps, know how to make lottery tickets, know the brands of cigarettes. You`re mainly by yourself with no official lunch break. Whenever there is a lull you can take one.
The hardest part was monitoring those inside the store and those pumping gas by yourself. The best part was being able to work alone.

So much required from the cash attendant that there is no way to do everything!!  They asked the manager to clean the pumps in -33C when no one does!! Never been done in my 13 years in this business.... So I realy feel they are outright wako

Manager wouldn't let employees switch shifts for any situation, got mad when you took quiet time to eat and/or check your phone (since there are no breaks) a lot of the times you’d be by yourself (at least the location I worked at was pretty busy during the day and I was put on my by myself a lot of the time expected to run two tills) was quiet rude when I brought my uniform in for my last cheque.
