On their website they claim "We take great pride in our employees. Focus on our employees is substantiated by the many programs and systems that we have in place to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, and an environment that encourages employee input, growth, and open communication." It looks good on paper, but is not practiced in real life. Machine break downs, unavailable parts delay, and some workers attitudes affect the ability to make production quotas. If that is not enough, the management team practices putting the screws to the supervisory staff who are more that willing to pass the pain onto the floor workers. The company's claim of being interested in communication with their employees and customers is in name only. 
There are many line workers who will assist new workers in learning the jobs, but unfortunately there are enough who don't, and that only adds to the stress of the numbers game. Some less than honest workers have no personal checks against setting up temp workers for the fall when production numbers are low, or when they make mistakes that slow or shut the lines down.
To their harm, there are certain supervisory staff, who if they judge you in a negative light, will go to whatever ends possible to cast you in the worst possible light, magnifying any opportunities/mistakes of shortcomings, while totally ignoring hard work and effort. Training is minimal, and judgment is plentiful with those folk.
If you are looking for a job that has the potential to stress you to the max, or one that will frustrate you to no end... then AP Plasman may be the right fit for you.

I got hired at AP Plasman as a forklift driver. The company is a very fast paced environment that have forklifts flying all over. They are very unorganized on midnights. The people that I worked with were ok. I called in for 2 days due to my daughters surgery. The supervisors told me I have nothing to worry about and that I wont have to worry about anything. The next week comes by and I got rushed into the hospital by an ambulance. I was there all sunday night and into monday morning. I ended up getting terminated from this job due to being sick. I understand the rules and guidelines but firing someone for illness that has proof is not a respectful company value, especially after the pandemic. I had all proof and documents to show I was at hospital for both occasions. If you want to work for a company and grow this is not the spot. They treat you like a number not a person. I was prescribed narcotics which affected my ability to work and perform tasks. Just like that they ended my term due to illness.They have no respect for their employees well being. There is one person named Peter who worked in the office, He used to always talk down on me because I was a labor employee. I was told to look at my termination as a business stand point. SHOULDN'T IT BE SAFETY FIRST when some one cant work due to illness and being prescribed medication that affects the work. So if I show up I could of hurt some one due to the medication I was on. If I am being safe and looking out for my safety and others I get fired. Not a place to make a career of. The turn over rate is high. Thanks for firong me because I was sick 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Some of the people, some of the managers. Personally I am not use to factory work but from what other people have told me at other facilities this place seems to be pretty good. They do help with temporary lay offs (usually starting with the more senior members) by giving them what the government EI would give them, in advance, to later be paid back  when the gov't EI cheque comes through, that is a positive.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working in the heat, depending what part of the job you're doing some of the people you're working with, simply there is a lot of people and so many different walks of life. As someone who wasn't born here you can see it is very clicky at times, making it tough to get to know who you're working with. Also some people are very dramatic and make things way bigger and louder then they need to be. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture is lack lustre. environment can be hot, can be fun. depending what department you work in determines if it is ok, good or not so fun. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
get there, go to your position ,do the job, go home. They do care about safety, but otherwise depending on who trains you will determine how well you fit into the certain positions. One good thing is the others will generally help you out.

My experience working at Plasman, Windsor Plant 3 was disappointing. Unfortunately, the management leaves a lot to be desired. Many of the supervisors seem biased toward certain employees, which leads to unfair treatment and a lack of recognition for the skills and hard work of others. Instead of fostering an environment where everyone's contributions are valued, some workers are favored, while others are overlooked, which creates unnecessary tension and frustration among the team.

Human Resources was no help in addressing these issues. In my experience, HR was largely ineffective, often ignoring valid concerns or taking far too long to respond. This lack of support from both management and HR made it difficult to feel appreciated or motivated at work.

While the job itself had potential, the poor management and ineffective HR department ultimately made the work environment toxic. Improvements are needed in leadership and communication to ensure that all employees are treated fairly and valued for their skills.

Everything here is so disorganized, and can be corrected but management doesn’t bother. Why put stuff in random places and then wonder where it went later? 
Robots always go down, then you get blamed for not making production. If you are not pressed for numbers, they’ll press you for quality, which say this is okay and then this isn’t okay.   
When something goes wrong management can get aggressive and yell. Great example to lead by guys…
Instead of trying to work together everyone just blames someone else.. there is 0 accountability and management will always blame their workers before blaming themselves. 
It is physically impossible to make numbers when the parts are defective, and the robot or computer is always going down.  Not to mention the poor forklift drivers have to be constantly either moving things or looking for where they were put. 
How can I do paperwork if you guys don’t regularly check to see that it is stocked… That’s not my fault. 

I wonder how they’ve lasted this long operating this way, but that’s not my problem anymore. 



The poeple who you may work with or next to are great! They help you out and don't mind if you make a mistake, and the work itself is pretty easy so you most likely wont make too many mistakes. You may experience soreness in many parts of your body due to the heavy or repetitive movements and standing/walking around all day. The management on the other hand are harsh unforgiving indeviduals, some more than others. They don't help you in any way, they simply watch if you are struggling and tell you to "Pick up the pace" if your team is falling behind right infront of their eyes. They do not tell you of your mistakes or areas of improvement either, they simply wait for you to mess up enough so that they can fire you without a second thought. If you wish to work in a place where you're essentially a tool, then this place is great. Because if you dare do things differently, even if your way is more efficient, they'll boot you out the door the first chance they get.

• Initiate and release (with Program Manager supervision) ECN requests

• Compile ECN responses and present to Program Manager for approval and release to Estimating

• Support New Program first production samples events:
  - Coordinate measurement of samples in fixtures
  - Compile dimensional results in requested format
  - Coordinate transportation between plants of samples

• Maintain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) graphs for Program Managers and Business Unit Manager. Graphs to be developed using data updated by Program Managers on an every-other-week basis:
  - Tool profit margin
  - Piece price margin
  - Part weight
  - Average days of delay on Milestones
  - Average gate review readiness on Milestone
  - Traffic light average efficiency

• Currently pursuing a University or College diploma, preferably with emphasis in Quality or Engineering
• Excel, Word and basic Microsoft Office software

Of all the companies Ive worked for in my career, I would have to say AP was and still is the best. 1hough Ive moved on in my career, my memories of 7 great years will not be forgotten.  I personally respected everyone from the CEO to plant floor personnel. Had a grrat boss who taught me more about my job and more so lofe in general than O could ever pay back. Should anyone ever have the opportunity to work there, take it. It will be the experience of a lifetime. There are always negative reviews for every company out there, and its usually disgruntled former employees.  Take this to the bank. Plasman always has been and will continue to be a winner. Itruly enjoyed my time there. I dont think Ill ever find it nor will wvwn bother looking for an equivalent.  Rock on AP your still the best in my heart. Thanks for every thing. You made me a better emplyee and added  personal value and education  to get me where I am today.

A Team Leader's day started with getting the line up that consisted of 7 to 10 presses, the people you had to work with that day , and the production you needed to achieve .
After everybody was assigned the work place you had to make sure the people are properly trained to do the job and they have everything they need to run it .You had to do quality checks, make sure the products are properly packed and labeled, release workers for breaks , deal with any quality safety and co-workers issues.
What i learned is that having your work area set up properly from an ergonomic point of view impacts directly the production results.The better your work area is organized the better results you give.
The hardest part was working in 3 shifts, by the time you got used to one shift you had to switch .
The most enjoyable part was training people on new jobs.

Worked at the LaSalle plant. I was very excited to work there. I was never late, worked hard, always beat the targets, eager to learn, etc. I raised some safety concerns about a station I was assigned to (which resulted in me injuring myself), and the next thing I know I’m terminated. 

They want you to work until you sweat. The management does not care about the health or safety of its employees and they made that very clear. The pay is not worth anything. No job stability, the breaks are barely anything, I got yelled at my first day by a supervisor to go faster. Some of the workers are nice, but most are brand new temps because there is such a high turnover rate. Shifts get cancelled constantly aswell. Overall toxic workplace environment that I would never recommend.
