They have all been great work days for me,I really enjoy my job and going to work everyday.They give you excellent training and everyone gets there job done and I think they all enjoy there job and find it rewarding.
I think I have learned how to be more patient then I was before.
I have learned about how important it is to do pre-trip and post-trips and saftey first.
They have a great training facility and are willing to help you always.
The management is always approachable and  knowledgeable  and will to help you if need be.
The hardest part of the job for me is not enough hours and not enough charters.
The most enjoyable part is greeting the kids ,parents,E.A.'s and teachers everyday.. they are always cheerful usually

Prairie is a environment where verbal, mental and physical abuse is rampant and Management refuses to resolve it. Management are untouchable and do as they please with the help of their “favourites”.  Very low moral and ongoing backstabbing is ongoing everyday. Employee  appreciation is rare but the expectations of them are high. The company logo of “People are our greatest asset” is so far from the truth. If you value your morals and values this is not the place for you, look elsewhere for employment.

Pros are you have summers off and you are off when your kids are.  No daycare costs to work, you can bring your kids.  You get a free bus driving license. 

Cons are pay is terrible for the huge responsibility and expectations. Like minimum wage low.   No benefits.  Management is not good.  Sparing is horrible and you might not get a route for awhile.

The work life balance is good, but really the best part of the job is your time off.  

There are better options out there.

Love the job but office staff are ungrateful and unfair. Don’t treat drivers with respect. If you aren’t a favorite you mean nothing. Training program is lacking. They need to realize that if it wasn’t for the drivers they would not have a job. Most unappreciated job I’ve ever had. Absolutely loved my route and my students though. Still see some of them.  You don’t get even close to a fair wage or anything. For what we are responsible for it’s a joke. 

The culture is great, the people are fantastic, management truly supports their staff 100% of the time. Despite a good work environment, the pay isn't great, hours are hit and miss but both are to be expected in this type of job market. Would I recommend them to others? Absolutely! If you want a good work/life balance and do it with good, fun people, go for it. I have zero regrets joining them and I plan to be around for a while. 

I would drive students from point A to point B safely, I learned that having patience was the way to go with 60 kids on your bus, I really enjoyed working for Prairie Bus Lines good people, I enjoyed talking to my co-workers on the ceebee, or we would go for lunches with everyone, all bus drivers, hardest part of the job was discipline when it was needed, the most enjoyable part of the job is knowing I got the kids home safe.

This is where bullying is not only outlawed it is who runs the place. Management is male so the bullying females are not addressed for their harassment. The biggest of the physically large also females that bully's is a flaming psychopath that controls what everyone else thinks of you. And if you are not kissing but to the bully or her group of blimps look out. Your coffee will be spiked

Typical day contains daily pre and post trips of the bus, log books
The children have their good and bad days, but mostly good days
Overall Prairie is an excellent company to work for. They have high expectations of their drivers and so they should, as us school bus drivers are responsible for the transportation of children, whom I believe to be so very precious to all of us out there.

I got a free class 2 license, training is on your time and not paid for. Training was so easy and fun, not at all hard! Job is stressful at times, sometimes the cargo is difficult and dealing with the issues is not black and white. If there was more work ex. Field trips it would be perfect! 

You drive a minimum of 4 hours per day. with the opportunity to do charters and earn extra money.
 
Prairie is very family based, you can bring your children with you to most jobs.


The hardest part of this job is driving and keeping the peace with your young passengers.
