The typical day at work consists of a very stressful and negative environment where work requires effort to be part of the family and appease others rather than do the actual work one is hired for.  The business is that of a close knit family. That is why the turnover rate for this company is extremely high. The environment is fake with pretentious people keen on narcissism. Almost no genuine people at this office, and few elsewhere.
The office environment is such that one only learns at the behest of the "seniors" as granted by them, but how much of that learning is actually correct no one knows.
The management is extremely toxic and will pull one down in this office unless one does not conform to the negative work culture. No opportunity exists to actually contribute unless granted. 
The hardest part of the job is to figure out how not to dissatisfy. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was the chance to partake in making Tuesday or lunch time lunches. 

Great place of work, offering the best team environment anyone could possibly ask for! It was my privilege to work for the this company for just shy of 6 years and there is not a single negative thing I could say against their organization.
The civil and line crew guys are some of the best people I've had the opportunity to meet and they make you feel as if you are a part of one big family. The construction management consists of 4 qualified, patient supervisors that are always there when their crews are in need. Headed up by a senior construction manager that understands the industry and what is necessary to continue being a big hitter among a crowded pool of capable contractors.
I would strongly advise anyone that has an opportunity to join this company, to do so!

I had a very bad experience at this company. The management is not honest. If they don’t like you, they will get rid of you without a valid explanation. This is clearly micromanagement and unfair treatment of employees. Terminations can be sudden and unexplained. They set unrealistic deadlines and create a stressful work environment.
Avoid this company at all costs. Unfair management, sudden terminations, and unrealistic deadlines create a toxic work environment. I had a terrible experience and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

My 4 1/2 years at Primary Engineering were very rewarding and they supported my desire to complete the Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Program at the University of Calgary which I will be completing in April 2017. The management team as well as fellow co-workers were some of the best I have ever worked with and will be missed. The most enjoyable part of my job as Health and Safety Manager was the ongoing challenges that come with the industry and the everyday learning for myself.

Primary Engineering is willing to teach a junior staff to become successful in their role. Primary Engineering offers a flexible working hours ie. work from home or office. The management never fails to acknowledge the employee's hardwork and efforts. The workplace culture is awesome, it's very well balanced between Senior/Junior experienced staffs and everbody is willing to help each other. I feel very fortunate to be part of Primary Engineering team.

Had an issue where unsafe practices were brought up and instead of the company dealing with the issue afterwards the crew involved had zero repercussions and continued to talk down to me behind my back. 

It's a place where the people who have been there the longest, get treated better than a hard/safe employee.

I give it 3 stars for competitive wages and good benefits/perks.

The manager is not supportive. The person micro-manages. He will always at you to try to pursuade to do things his way. Mistakes happen but the manager instead of helping and supporting he intimidated to fire from the job. Very bad experience for me. Never recommend someone who likes to work in stress-free environment. 

Senior management care for staff, and it shows, as it trickles down through management.

Teams are highly supportive and collaboration is everywhere.

If you're good at your job, it's like family here.

Tight nit company and people. A company with a double edged sword. The company has an engineering side and a construction side which but heads constantly. The think as one company but act as 2. Difficult work environment, having to answer to several managers in one sitting.

Job is great but mangment run people down if they dont like you they trie to get rid of you  people in the office do what they want and drivers  and  have poeple on the job get    ..... on all the time from office staff if they dont like you they trie to get rid of you
