Proform Concrete Services

It was a great experience of over ten years starting as junior Estimator to senior Estimator and very insightful to work in civil infrastructure and concrete road construction projects, from curb and sidewalks to highway and airport concrete pavements, and with civil engineering backgrounds you get to apply many technical skills in math, operations, soil mechanics, concrete technology and reinforced concrete construction. Slow paced during winter seasons to Fast paced and long hours during summer but typical of Canadian construction cycles, but definitely a rewarding place to work if putting the effort and a collaborative attitude, as management always has an open-door policy with all its staff. Their foremen and finishers have a wealth of experience and dedication to their construction trade both in machine extruded and cast in place concrete structures.

A fast paced working environment. Managed by great supportive and understanding group of people. Hands on and great co workers to help grow and gain more skills, they are never ones to say no if you need a helping hand. Learn many different skills and may different ways to learn for your comfort and prefered learning ways. Lots of positions and many tools to be learned how to use in a safe manner. Your never standing still always moving and usually on your feet for long hours a day. Foremans are very understanding and always there to talk to and learn from. Always changing location ,iv worked out of town and all over Red Deer

From the last 3 months that I have worked at Proform, the people at my job have taught me to handle myself with equipment and to maintain my overall being with being gone from home for weeks on end. I enjoy this job as it is a character building job and it is good for getting your feet wet and I reccomend this for any fresh out of highschool adults to get in this as it will help you in the long run. Now the bad side of this job is the isolation, you will hardly be home and  you will work hopefully 10-12 hour days 6 days a week and the strain of that is quick to get as Ive been working here for 3 months and I feel the stiffness and pain in my body every day.

The crews and Forman's I worked for were good people the overhead and hr weremtso friendly

Good place work sometime most time to rush on jobs

Were all right days working there

Fast paced production at times.  Get people organized and motivated. There are conflicts and opportunities to build a team. Core employees make it worth it to work together. Great products produced and the company is diversified so there is opportunity for lateral movement. Would I work there again. Sure.

They expect you to go out of town on long hitches and pay you literally next to nothing to be away from your family for months you get sub pay but they want you to go to places like Whitehorse and hay river where the cost of living is outrageous and you make very little and they don't want to train people just want you to be there for grunt work 

Proform Concrete is an excellent company full of many experienced personnel who were always willing to train their employees with the highest quality of workmanship. It was a fun work environment during all my years there as an employee

Hauling sand, rock and aggregates, work maintaining waste concrete pile with a cat and backhoe. Great place to work with lots of variation. Management was ok. Fridays where bbq days and the benefits where good. The best part of the job where the hours and days off. 7am to 3pm with all holidays off.

Well trained staff, lots of open communication, strong employees, equipment maintained, staff worked well together or on separate tasks, room for growth with company, able to move to different areas of company, strong management is certain areas

Opportunity for advancement is minimal at best. The compensation for the blood, sweat, and tears that you will undoubtedly shed while working here is pitiful. The most hostile place i have ever worked at.
