A typical day at work would be a morning meeting which you can’t hear whet they’re saying so you will likely have to ask afterward. You then have an assigned task or are paired up with someone that has them.

They have standardized breaks and have flexibility if you have children.

They have quite a few apprentices that decide to take days off randomly which can be unusual.

They’re a manufacturing business and don’t offer a rate competitive to construction work. They don’t pay stat holiday pay as a manufacturing business.

They pay low.


The carbon monoxide alarm went off a couple times when I was there because the building wasn’t properly ventilated. Management is aware and hasn’t made any changes.

They will do the legal minimum for you.
They employ people who will accept low wages for example heavy duty techs, milwrights, and electricians all paid below standard.




Calgary floor staff are the best people I have worked with in a long time. Backstabbing and bus driving was a job parameter in the Rosedale facility. As time went on the original people were never good enough and constant micromanagement and toxicity became the normal in all aspects. The staff on the floor in Calgary again were so fun. The culture is what you made it because they never practiced what they preached. Hardest part of the job was the constant bullying and not having anyone to have your back. Management started off well and then buddies and friends got hired if you had previously been in a good position they would never let you move up because you were good at your job

Propell is an amazing place to work! The people and the culture are absolutely wonderful. The employees at Propell are welcoming and it is refreshing to see a company where everyone is safety conscious. Management is unbeatable, they provide feedback and recognition, regular performance reviews, allow you to contribute ideas, promote your career growth and genuinely care about your wellbeing. There are lots of different opportunities and tons of room for growth.

Fast paced, safety orientated work place. One of the cleanest and well kept facilities I have ever worked in. Great work environment and staff. Always something new to learn due to the diverse work load and Leading edge technology. I would highly recommend working here whether you're just starting out or a veteran of the trades.   Competitive wages with room to grow and advance your career. Steady work load, ideal for a long term career.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to work at unless you want a very low wage work and even if you give your 100 percent they still wont give you a raise, just a pat on the back. This is why a bunch of people are leaving this company for somewhere better that pays better and has better management. There was a lot of favoritism, so if you’re not one of them, the best of luck to you. Only good thing about this place is your co workers in the shop, atleast that made the place tolerable. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
best part is all guys specially at the paint department all the guys there were polite hard working respectful. and no bullies so nice to work with them.    

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
i dont think anything maybe doing nothing and getting paid.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
guys were helping each other.

Good starting company but you are disposable depending on work load. LOTS OF LAY OFFS. great for starting apprentices though as they have good career training and will sign off on your hours if you are persistent enough.

Operation supervisor has no clue what he’s doing there is a lot of favouritism there sales men is terrible bad attitude!! To many family members in important rolls making bad decisions! No maintenance on the facility all employees are only there because there is nowhere else to go overall terrible experience 

This is a great atmosphere to work in.  The company is growing and investing in the facilities, equipment and growth of several of the production areas. They offer  programs for career advancement, flexibility and great benefits.

I have seen alot of positive change with the culture at Propell in the last 2 years. Management supports the growth of peoples careers and supports employees by offering apprenticships and continuing wage reviews based on performance and time with the company.
