The position itslef was very rewarding at times aswell as very demanding. Working with various clients and watching them to reach their goals and to move onto permanent placments was very rewarding. Working with individuals with some very difficult diagnosis is trying at times and physical interventions cna be very hard for staff and clients bothphysically and mentally, however it is a very nesecary part of the job. The best part of working for this company is the team I was able to work with, They were very supportive and the team was very strong together. The companies management was very supportive in the begining and the job was worth going to, however that changed during the time that I worked there and mangement was not supportive. They were more ngeative than the employees, which made the job more stressful.

Everyday was different. I loved this job  because you never knew what to expect whether it be quiet or a wild crazy hectic day with the people we supported. I loved the job because I always was doing something different. Hard part of the job was seeing people come and go as you gain the relationships with people you supported but was also rewarding because sometimes we were able to help them get on a good routine that they were able to be good and maintained in there own homes.

A typical day at prospect services was you arrive and usually it would be breakfast right away. after breakfast you typically got the girls ready for there day and to attend school within the same facility. i didnt really learn a whole lot working here other then how to do safe management on a client that was extremely aggressive. All my co workers were fanstastic people! Hardest part to my job was having clients attack you so always having to be on gaurd.

-lots of turnover.. Always new staff
-management is TERRIBLE
-pay cheques bounce
-minimal training & support after first day 
-extremely aggressive clients, the management down plays the behaviour of clients.
-full time staff in washago are extremely cranky


..I witnessed an incident that needed police and an ambulance and I was threatened with my job if I reported it. Needless to say I left.

Less than satisfactory management and on call support. Highly physically demanding and mentally exhausting. Unstructured schedules increases difficult resident behaviours. Expect hair pulling, biting, and restraining residents on a daily basis. PSW duties expected from DSWs. Food is provided, which is one of the only positive aspects about working for this company.

never knew what was to come the day you came in. People are depressing to work with and there is little to no support from staff/management. It was hard to get a hold of management when problems arise. I would not recommend working here unless you like to feel unappreciated, work long hours and people not to care about your health OR safety!!!!

Great experiences and learning lessons, this company assisted me in continuing to grow and develop as a Child & Youth Worker. Enjoyed the relationships established with co workers and shift partners, as well as the therapeutic relationships built with clients and families!

I had the opportunity to work at DIA with a company called Prospect. It was a very different experience to see how DIA and the wheelchair service works. But at the same time I learned that job is not for me. The schedule is not constant

I worked for this company off and on for 3 years and I now have completely wiped their agency off of my resume. The neglect that happens within this agency is repulsive. I would NEVER recommend someone to work here.

To long of hours. Not enjoyable. Very stressful. Make sure that you have training on how to handle a person with severe developmental disabilities and severe behaviours. Very unpredictable.
