RIDER EXPRESS TRANSPORTATION

I’ve completed my first year at Rider Express Transportation as a Customer Service Agent and looking for more. Rider Express is a fast growing company with good culture, great pay rates, benefits and work hours. Hiring and training process was smooth.  Managers , drivers and agents are an excellent people and always willing to help. Job involves interacting with customers with diverse backgrounds and most of the passengers treat you with respect.  Because of it’s nature, It’s a stressful, fast paced environment but If you have patience, good customer service skills and strong work ethics , you will enjoy working with Rider Express .  Your hard work always appreciated

Making decisions for my branch and taking responsibility of daily duties

Following up bus mechanical
issues not to cancel services at the last moment of departure time

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is a branch of company in another city requires strong communication between branch managers. And friendly 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Morning is very busy and feel a lot pressures. After morning service follow routine works.

Communication with drivers was brutal, inconsistent and direction was constantly changing. Decision makers changed, they did not respond to driver questions, concerns. Schedules change without notice or consultation,  unreliable hours, promises not kept, expecting impossible hours for log book, (they actually made me a schedule for a 14:30 hr day) no replacement drivers, unable to manage breakdowns, I can go on.  The pay was good but not enough to keep me there. If you expect professionalism and respect, don't work for these guys.

A typical day of work started at 7am and I worked until 5pm.  I had 1 hour for my lunch break.  It was a start up transportation company,  it was stressful as the management/owners  was organizing and setting up the office.  Most of the co-workers were friendly and good to work with, but most of my time I was in the office alone.  The hardest part of my job was the long days at work with very little breaks.  The best part  of the job when I was not in the office, but driving the mini bus/van.

Started as a driver in Regina at beginning of Nov 2019. Buses constantly breaking down, wheels fell off one bus, poor maintenece on the all buses. The DOT has a file on them, they tell drivers to falsify DVIR reports (the reason I quit), they lose hours of service documents. Owner does not care about customer safety, just about making money. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY if you want to keep your license and not be fined.

Everyday you worry if equipment is safe, they are not good at maintenance of equipment, cleaning of busses is terrible, owner lying to employees all the time, management is disorganized, owner does not follow law, owner asking drivers to go over legal driving time, owner and manager not understand bus business. Very unsafe and stressful place to work.

Working for Rider Express makes you feel like you are making difference with connecting people with  their family and friends. It is a relaxing environment to work and great management team that provides required  help any time you need. I am grateful to be part of this team.

Unprofessional, disorganized, can’t seem to pay on time or get pay stubs out. I’ve been fighting with them for 7 months trying to get my ROE and I never got a T4 for last year. They put you up in the cheapest place they can find and those places are usually dirty and often moldy. I would rather be a box store greeter than work for them again.

Rider Express is a good place to work as they offer competitive salary and role of everyone is defined clearly.  Organizational culture is relaxed overall but could be fast paced as  it is a transport business deals with seasonal demand surges etc.  People at the organization are fun to work with. 

I do not have much to say. Their pay above the average. They have many location across the Canada. I think that it is a growing company so will be more institutionalized in the coming years.
