The most disgusting part of the job was having a manager sexually involved with a co-worker, who was on the same floor.  She refused to assist when we needed help on the floor.  The manager refused to take seriously abuse that had taken on the floor and reported.  There were nurses always on the phone planning parties,  and refused to assist with patient care.  They were more concerned about what was on TV.  One aide who I reported on several times that had assaulted a resident was ignored,  and the report thrown into the garbage.  There were staff that formed a clique and picked on everybody else.  One patient who was difficult, was left in urine and dirty for 6 days.  His bed was swimming in filth.  One nurse even left the window open when it was -20 outside.  People beware,  you may think everything looks nice but on the inside its not what it seems.  Every floor is different, as well as staff.  This abuse was covered up, and NEVER reported.  There is a undiscovered cover-up going on there.

Work in Palliative Care is stressful, hectic, busy, unpredictable and very rewarding.  We are front line to patient care, observing everything about our patients and relating any changes including personality, skin abrasions, changes in wounds etc. to our nurses.  Sometimes the hardest part is not the patient but trying to help the families come to terms with their loved one's forseeable passing.  There are supports in place if we feel overwhelmed and our nurses and our manager are very supportive of us.

Working where u are always in trouble  and walking 9n egg shells

doing bedside care to residents.

I loved working here, I found the other employees to be extremely supportive, nice and welcoming people. Little problems with the management. The only thing I would change is the building quality, the building could use some renovations. The facility spreads positive messages to their employees often and it’s a nice thing to see.

I loved my job so much and helping patients feel good about themselves and I knew I had a purpose being there for them. I guess someone saw it differently and felt I wasn’t needed. My job was deleted and I fell into depression. Miss helping the patients very very much!

Working station needed to expand for our department.  The storage room for Recreation Supplies was too small. 
Staff were required to learn new skills -  training was provided on a regular basis.

It is clear that management needs to save money post COVID.Frequent short staffing so assignments are often confusing requiring staff to float to different areas for “support”.Unfortunately, it’s rare to work with the same coworkers. 

I have learned a lot from my co-workers and the staff is co-operative and hard working. The most enjoyable part of this job is exercise session. I am having a very good time with the residents. There is always something to learn over there.

Worked there for many yrs . Loved the staff and facility decided to switch careers Only left there due to a career change in 2005. Got my real estate licence
