RST Instruments

worked here for a year! started off in a department where It was very relaxed and could do my own thing, but the pay was horrible! 
  because of my relaxed position in the early stages of my employment i was poached by a different departments manager, which lead to higher compensation (still peanuts). worked in this new position for the majority of my time at RST and found myself being constantly micro managed daily, even after being fully trained and confident in my abilities. as time went on, some positions in the company opened up that would propel my potential career. First position was a simple promotion which I was promised an interview and answer for, 3-4 months later down the pipeline and there was nothing to show for it. While this was happening, I was approached by ANOTHER departments manager and was told to apply, was told id be a a great fit. (I was approached because i ran the department for 2 weeks and excelled.)  after weeks of waiting for an interview, I finally got it, but when it came, i wasnt asked a single question... Was just told what i'd be doing in my new position. And at the time this seemed promising. Months later with no follow up communication, I decided to follow up myself, only to find out the position was given to someone else. 
   The production managers are pretty cool, if you can get into the machine shop, that wouldn't be bad. 
   There is constant bickering between managers and there is always someone and something to complain about. never a cooperative effort to find a suitable solution. 
  HR is going to be HR wherever you go, but this place has got some of the biggest karens i've ever encountered.
 This is just a glimpse into this pathetic employer. 
  If you wish to be held at extremely high standards, never be appreciated, have upper employees talk behind your back, be lied to, increase cortisol levels, begin a cigarette addiction, have no opportunity for advancement, and get the occasional free slice of pizza... Then I would apply! 
   

Had a great run, but as the management has changed the company moved farther away from a warm and welcoming place. It used to be lovely, bordering a friendly mom-and-pop feel; now it's cold and uncaring with a corporate attitude that doesn't compliment it at all. The quality of the products has suffered due to tight deadlines, deadlines that always take priority over the actual product itself. The amount of managers and office workers surged, while the production team only shrunk in my time there, all the while deadlines grew tighter and production expectations soared. The burden on the production floor employees and lower management was raised to staggering heights, while reasonable compensation for the work put in or stress levels was never provided, and appreciation plummeted. No amount of effort, or successfully met deadlines was ever given praise, nothing is enough for them. Also, upward mobility is practically non-existent unless you sell your soul to the right manager, and even then there's no guarantee it'll be worth it or that it'll happen at all. Don't waste your time if you can avoid it, as nice as your co-workers would be, this place takes a toll on your soul.

Many useless old employees how have no ideia how to work; no training, low wages 
* A typical day at work: show up on time and leave on time, that’s it!
* what you learned: just the minimum to do part of the job, as old employees will try do not share any relevant knowledge 
management is ridiculous 
* workplace culture: everybody complains in silence, smile to managers 
* the hardest part of the job: learn by your own ; fallow the HR team the plans to fill the social mídias with pretending nice moments in group, which is fake.
* the most enjoyable part of the job: the daily fake meetings 

Working at RST Instruments was a decent experience overall. High rate of employee turnover. Every person fired is replaced with 2 hires. People were scared for their job security because of this. New owners implementing new systems, lots of trial and error. High tensions and animosity between workers since new management came into the picture.

I did not enjoy working here. Management treated it's blue collar employees very poorly and offered almost no benefits other than those legislated by law.

Run away! Horrible management. Horrible CEO. Office workers vs production workers argue all day. No communication between departments. Managers are very rude. There is a very diverse culture no one really gets along. No special lunches, no thank you’s, nothing. They expect work to come before family. 

Office workers are very friendly and helpful, a lot of work to do but people stay calm, multicultural environment, often having meal on the long weekend. Have a lot of opportunities to promote but stressful as higher position
