Working for Rainbow Green house has been a truly amazing opportunity. 
I am constantly learning new things everyday to further my experience, whether it's from my management team, my staff/coworkers and or the knowledgeable gardeners and customers we interact with each day. 
It is a great job for the early risers who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty, love being outside rain or shine, have a friendly and approachable personality as well as being athletic. 
It can be hard and heavy work somedays but it definitely pays off after seeing the colourful, blooming, organized displays you have created for your customers to shop. 
The positive benefits that plants have on human beings is unmeasurable, and it's honestly hard to have a bad day working with them. 
Each year when spring rolls around every little seed and bulb start to sprout and grow, soon surrounding us in bright aromatic blooms. 
When working for Rainbow you are a very important part of the plants life cycle in the horticultural aspect in producing successful continuous blooms. In my eyes, I was been given the opportunity to nurture and help these plants flourish while they wait to be chosen for their forever gardeners.
The job its self is a really fun and inviting atmosphere to work in. The greenhouse workers and planters are incredibly hardworking and it shows in the pristine quality in mass quantities of products the company can supply to other Garden Centres/Superstores. The management and Supervisors are easy to communicate with and always there to help you succeed. Rainbow is a great company to work for and I defiantly recommend it. 

A typical day at work was busy and fast-paced but it was all made easier with help from my boss. I was on my own for the most part, but I was always able to contact my boss if I had any questions or concerns and it was very reassuring having the assistance when I needed it. At this job I learned a lot about displaying product and how it can affect how much merchandise is sold. I also learned how to get a task done more efficiently with innovative problem solving. It was always a pleasure working with my boss and we always got everything done as quickly as possible. The hardest part of my job was receiving large amounts of carts at a time and then emptying all the carts because it was physically exhausting, but it was always left me with the feeling of accomplishment. The most enjoyable part of my job was displaying the merchandise to make it look appealing and where it would sell quickly. It was a very positive experience working for Rainbow Greenhouses Inc. I wish that I could have worked there longer, but it was only a seasonal position.

A typical day is about 8.5 hours in length, possibly less depending on inclement weather conditions. Work mostly consists of assembling displays, watering plants, processing shipments, and occasionally guiding customers. Its all very satisfying hands on work which still requires you to put some thought in and not a large source of exertion except on the busiest days. Culture, at least at my assigned store, was very relaxed with management being mostly hands off as long as you were doing your job. In general management and team leads are a joy to deal with, very understanding and friendly. The most difficult part of the job is liaising with managers from client companies who do not necessarily understand the realities of the work and can often make difficult to accommodate requests. There can also be occasional periods with either a large amount of urgent work or no work at all to deal with, which some might find exhausting or boring respectively.

This is my first season working for Rainbow and it's been great so far. I love working outside, except in the rain but it is still fine for me. I love working with the plants and each day I would read up on a new plant to learn more about it. I love all the vibrant colors and working with plants and flowers in general. It brings a sense of happiness. The pay is good, especially because they pay more than minimum wage, which is great. Also it's perfect for a summer job, students and someone just wanting to get out and work. You have to work fast and early mornings, which is for me so I just love this place. The tasks come easy once you learn what you are supposed to do. I recently met the Director who travels here to walk all the stores, he takes time to introduce himself to his team, which is really nice. If your work is not done right, he will tell you and you just do it over. It's important to get that feedback without taking it to heart and that's not something I do. I hope to return.

From my experience, if you have more than like 2 people working at the same store as you it sounds fine. If you’re working alone you’re about to go insane. At least I did. I mostly worked alone so I was literally talking to myself like a mad woman. I was located at a very slow pace store so it gets boring when you’re basically done everything you were told to do early on within your shift. Oh and if you’re with a useless coworker, you’re also screwed. Since you’ll be doing all of the work. Totally not saying this from experience. You don’t really get hands on training either just a heads up. The most you’re getting is a 2 hour zoom call.

Management is cool. It’s not like the best but the managers I’ve met are cool.  They’re very flexible when it comes to scheduling and such. They might take a couple or few hours to answer your text but honestly that’s already pretty fast.

The management makes a simple job  extremely complex. 

Can be fun if you have a decent team or a complete nightmare if you have shady coworkers.

No recognition for your efforts, a lot of complaints/problems but no solutions. 

Gossip/bullying, poor work culture.

Unclear training/expectation.

No job security, easily replaceable 

If you think you aren’t being watched you most likely are in some cases.  

Lack of any machinery or tools to help with the labor… everything done by hand.

Many confused customers on whether you're a merchandiser or an employee at your sites storefront. 

A lot of the work you do will have to be redone as it never measures up to managements standards. 

Overall a simple job, 20k+ steps per day + labor with the shipments. 

Type of job you can lock in make some cash and never come back or return for more seasons if you enjoy the job. 




As a family we have worked for Rainbow for 3 years. Management is supportive and flexible. Busy pace especially when get new shipments in and when weather gets hot you can water plants for whole shift. Great training before start job and on the job  advice. Love that you never work a Sunday so have one day off at least with family. Love customer interactions. Depending on the store we have experienced some amazing support from the store staff.We look forward to many more years working with Rainbow. You do need to be prepared to work in all weather so appropriate clothing is essential. Be prepared to purchase many plants which may reduce your income but bring you happiness at home so totally worth it. I would strongly recommended working for Rainbow to anyone 🌈

Just as the title says Rainbow is a great company all around. Great people in the field as well as in the office.

The owners are very engaged in the business and are very open to new ideas from anyone on the team. I work in the field daily during the peak season daily, and the field people make this job so much fun. They are funny, strong, passionate people that love this job!

The hardest part of this job is the most rewarding, getting up earlier and unloading and moving racks make for a long day, but when the customers come to talk about how beautiful your store set up looks it makes it all worthwhile.

I have learned so much in such a short period of time from the planning, shipping, and execution in the field. The experience you get from working at Rainbow is truly a great feeling.

I would recommend working with us, you will see the difference the people make!

The position has a detailed agenda of daily, weekly, monthly and annual duties with good systems in place to get the job done. The busy season brings larger work loads, and could become stressful at times. 

The team is very knowledgeable, as many have been there +10 years and have been crossed trained for greater teamwork & support. 

the management teams have personal questionnaires that help them understand your way of working and communicating. They work with you when errors occur so that you can learn from your mistakes.

 I mostly enjoyed the workplace culture. Even when times can get stressful (due to deadlines etc.) we can still stop to laugh with each other. I looked forward to the company BBQ's and team building events. It is a  productive, yet friendly environment to work and professionally grow in.

As a remote merchandiser, I generally felt well respected by the company and had a lot of workplace freedom as long as I got the job done and did my best even when I couldn’t finish something. 
I worked with and witnessed certain people who weren’t able to play well with others which isn’t going to get you far working for Rainbow… as long as you maintain a good attitude and understand that your long distance management is swamped and severely understaffed and won’t always communicate well with you, you should be happy working for this company. This job is essentially what you make it, and it’s not every day you find a job where you get to choose your own hours.
