Rainbow Restoration

I worked for Rainbow for almost two years as a service engineer but was also trained up as a technician. My main duties where to service and repair all the equipment within the main building and to PAT test all equipment within the building as well. I was also sent away and trained as a technician for the restoration side and spent many a pleasant day driving around Lincolnshire attending job's and customers who required equipment to be PAT tested. On the whole I must say that this is one of the best job's I have had todate apart from having to deal with the office staff who were present at the time I was employed there.

Rainbow international is run by good honest people. They take safety seriously.
However like many companies in the area due to surplus of people and lack of jobs the trend is to take advantage of employees by paying minimal wages and expecting employees to do skilled, hazardous and both physically and mentally demanding work.

On the plus side the chance to move up is there and one could expect the wage to eventually be livable.

Management is terrible, you can get fired/ laid off at any time and they would give you the worst story ever. They do not even have the courtesy to give a performance evaluation, manager is never around. only thing they take more seriously than the services they render is the monthly breakfast they do.
They make you feel very little, give you many deliverables with no proper training. 
A company with no sense of direction, and a total waste.

Altapro was great work experience for me. I thought I had great organizational and communication skills until how much they had to improve. Running upwards of 80 construction sites, between upwards of 30 calls a day was a challenge. I was able to implement tactics within myself that made me a success at mastering project management.

I learned about the key points about how to sell a product, how to behave with costumers and how to set your "day benefit goals".
The best part about the job was traveling all the time house to house, and meeting all kind of people which in that age awakened  my interest in psychology.

There are weekend/on-call requirements approximately once a month. Very rewarding job! 

small franchise family business-two decision makers-very hard to adapt because of the unstable decisions they take from one day to the other.Not a place to develop yourself and grow with the company.

It should be illegal for them to ask about your current income.

Company went under in January 2016. Required to be on call on weekends and long weekends. Could not take vacations on Summer. If they did not have anything for you to do, they would send you home with no pay.

My typical day varies from cleaning a carpet to sympathising with customers who have experienced loss of a loved one or pet and most commonly loss of possessions.
