During my time at RAM, I worked in a shop that had about 20 other guys working in it. Of those 20 guys, 4 of them were managers.

You read that right, 1/5 of the staff were management. On top of that, they never communicated with each-other and all had equal authority over every worker. If it sounds like a bad joke, it's because working there is. One manager even told me to move pallets from one side of an aisle to the other simply because "The boss sees that and thinks we're busy."

I will say that on a personal level, some of the managers were good guys, and one of them was even good as a manager, but the complete lack of communication completely washed away any hope of good leadership.

The pay was bad, the work was hard and filthy, and you're generally personally treated poorly by the big boss. The guys you work with are good people, which helps a lot.

The benefits package seemed incredible, but god help you if you work there long enough to get it.

Overworked and grossly underpaid. 
One of the worst working experiences I've ever had. The owners, simply put are greedy pigs who give no consideration or appreciation to there employees regardless of how hard you work. Completely Unsafe working conditions with zero opportunity to advance. Every 6 months this company has to rehire a new group of people because no one sticks around longer then that ...its a rotating door of new faces on a monthly basis because most people figure out real quick this place is nothing more then a scam. If your thinking of applying here....dont.

overworked for very little pay.  literally feels like slavery.   the job alone is physically intense. you will be overworked.  it is a job where all your energy will be drained out of your body by the middle of the shift.   not to mention the extremely dirty environment.  when you blow your nose or spit, you see all black from the dust inhaled.   your clothes will be totally dirty. it is as if you got dipped in mud.  This is not even an exageration.    

i would recommend looking for a better job option.   any job is better than this.   have some respect for yourself.

From the day I started at ram up to today's date, I've been able to gather and obtain various amounts of welding, operating, and fabrication skills, as the use of different methods that go on in a metal scrap yard. Ram is an amazing place to grow, develop, and learn. They have great team of employees all who are helpful and friendly, and management actually treats you like a human, as oppose to other companies who look at you as a number. Pay could be slightly better but benefits and work supply's make up for it.  Overall a Great place to learn and expand.

None, they would agree to your terms before you start then after a couple of weeks they want it their way

The company itself, the staff everything lol

Environment is good at first then goes down after

Stressed, drained and uncomfortable

I’d recommend working there to anyone. Great company to work for. Owners are great and they are fair to their employees. Mechanics on site all the time ready to help. 
Safe environment. Staff in the office are willing to provide any help the employees require. They follow through when the employees need them to. 
Non ferrous supervisor is a great person to work with and learn from. 
A lot of material to work with. Very busy environment. 


I'm a fairly new employee to Ram Iron& Metal and I have to give everyone here props for being awesome! With being a new employee and having a lot going on in my personal life I expected to have to worry a little more about my job. Everyone here, including our AMAZING HR team has reassured me not to worry. That my personal life is just as important as my work. They have been a great support and motivate me to be the best employee I can!

They start off with your job description then they add a bunch of tasks/duties not required by your job position to pickup slack from other workers. They don’t see the value a person can carry they only see money . They keep you where you’re at when you’re good at something not much room for advancement. 

Company has a lot of potential but unfortunately they don’t like to pay. Like most companies nowadays want maximum work for minimum pay. While the team leader has a great attitude but unfortunately it’s not to him to bring pay level up. This place has a revolving door of people if they would only realize pay people better people would actually stay. 
Being cheap isn’t always the answer!!!!! Wake up Ram!!!!!

Terrible company to work for. Dispatch is clueless. They don't train you properly then get upset when you don't do the job right when they send you on your own. The yard is a mess, the equipment is junky and the risk of getting injured from broken equipment is high. High turnover rate. Don't expect to last the probation period. Pay is dismal at best. Get better hours and pay at McDonald's and not exposed to the elements.
