What is the best part of working at the company?
So much time to sit around and wait

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Ram as a company on the service side and construction side feels like they prefer to live by constantly fumbling things. Underpaying their guys and then lying to their faces. Management doesn't care about anything it seems. But at ths same time will penny pinches over things that shouldn't be pinched but will literally throw money down a drain in other aspects.

It's a great company to collect hours or an under paid pay cheque if you don't have a work ethic

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hurry up and wait but also fo things with the nothing we've provided and keep busy with the work you're waiting on other things to be able to start.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Service side has people show up at the shop. Yammer for an hour or more then maybe get a job that has zero details so you arrive on site and spend another hour figuring out what to do and who to talk to. 3 jobs in a day bad the office people saying I was so great. But I still ran out of work by 2 ish often.

Construction side is showing up at 7 and doing your paper work. Then heading off to work while others sit around until 7:40 have half hour coffees and 45-1 hour lunches often.

They have a contract with the City of Edmonton but they are lowest rated among the mechanical company for the city. If you don't mind augering urinals and sewage all day long for the city and getting the occasional drug needles as you auger and this is the job for you. I work for the service side which is better than the project cause we have work everyday unlike the project side you are lucky to get a 5 day work week. The problem is that you go to work at 7:00 am but you don't know when your coming home. There is no balance between family and work.
Management is so disarray and unorganized just relay on your best judgement and the service manager is a very forgetful person better keep copies of everything and cover your back or he will turn around and blame you.

Regular and consistent work
Majority of the guys working with you are decent and respectful 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Breaks can be interrupted and overtime can sometimes be sprung on you with little notice.
Travel to out of town can be 24 hours notice or less 
Takes 6 months before benefits commence 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Generally respectful, and safety is a common goal.
There's flexibility in needing time off to deal with outside or unforseen circumstances in life.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Putting in a solid days work is what's expected.

I recently checked back on Indeed and wasn’t surprised to see that things at RAM Mechanical haven’t improved. I worked there many months ago, and even then, it was clear that the biggest issue was the management. There’s a serious lack of leadership — disorganized, unprofessional, and disconnected from the reality of the workplace.
What’s even more frustrating is that the owner seems completely unaware or simply uninterested in fixing the situation. Instead of addressing the problems, he’s allowed valuable, hardworking employees to walk away.
The company has potential, but unless there’s a major change in how it’s being run, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Be advised that the hours are hit and miss. Very disorganized and difficult to navigate issues related to this. Read roto rooter for the city and realize that it is very accurate. Work life balance is wondering how many hours you will work this week as they have multiple slow periods during the year. As far as management goes, very disorganized and clients often express openly their disapproval. In short high turnover rate caused by a negative environment.

Working for ram mechanical was a great experience. No other workplace felt as easy to be at. Everyone worked very well as a team, questions and concerns were easy to ask and always answered thouroughly.

Would have rather worked a part time job than work for a company that doesn’t support you after they were the ones telling you to do things for them. They asked for more than you were supposed to do and then never paid more for you doing them. 

Due to the corporate culture, Ram is not a very good place to work at all. Too many hours, not enough time for family.The pay and lack of advancement made matters worse. I would not reccomend this company to anyone.

Formans haven't got a clue and keep changing their mind halfway through tasks, tools provided by company are in poor condition ladders, threaders, power cords ect. Constantly running out of material.  Paystubs aren't brought to site until a week after payday.

Terrible management, little trust and a history of mistreatment of employees. Almost archaic in how little trust is shown from this employer. 10/10 do not recommend.
