Redstone Media Group provides new graduates with an opportunity to get their foot in the door and gain some experience before moving on to bigger and better things. I met some extremely dedicated and hardworking colleagues during my time at Redstone, most of whom have left and moved on to positions that are higher paying and provide a significantly more positive work culture. 

Redstone has an extremely toxic work environment, which stems from the top of the organization. Employees are treated very poorly when their opinions differ from the CEO's, employee gaslighting is very common, and when employees are not in office, they are talked about in an extremely negative manner. Gatekeeping of information and micromanaging are very common, and employees who work on the digital marketing team specifically, are devalued and undermined on a daily basis. There is constant conflict going on in the workplace that makes it difficult to be productive. 

In terms of resources and growth opportunities, there are almost none. Proper training is not given to new hires, and software resources and digital tools required to be successful in a digital marketing role are not provided. The CEO and top management would rather rely on completely archaic marketing and sales tactics. 

You will be asked to take on work outside the scope of your job, not be compensated appropriately for it, and face criticism when it isn't done in a specific way. Redstone pays considerably low wages compared to the industry norm, and there are few employee benefits. 

Redstone encourages the exact opposite of a collaborative team dynamic. Employees are reprimanded and punished for communicating with each other, and as a result, Redstone has created an anxiety inducing environment for their staff. How they treat their employees is also reflective of how they treat their clients. Overpromise, underdeliver, and cross ethical lines to get money in the door. 

Redstone taught me a lot about what to look out for in an employer, unfortunately a lot of these lessons came as a result of negative experiences. However, I learned a lot about what kind of leader I want to be in the workplace and how employees should be treated as a result of working for a narcissistic boss. 

In general, it was OKAY working at Redstone. Small-agency vibes, there's collaboration amongst team members, and it's a relaxed atmosphere. Work-life balance is as good as it can be for being an in-person agency (at least for me).

Sadly though, there were problems. First, the strategies and processes implemented are not as modern as in other organizations, making me wonder if the services we were providing clients were up to par with industry standards. Second and worst of all, were the backdoor politics and toxic culture. You could try your best to get along with everyone, put in solid work, and still be talked about behind your back.

Basically, if you're not on management's side, you'll feel the toxicity from them, and your supposed colleagues who are seemingly brainwashed into projecting the same sentiments towards you. I've seen it happen to colleagues who are great to work with, but were thrown under the rug into not working with them anymore. And other reviews paint the same (albeit slightly exaggerated) picture.  It's a shame because, subtracting the toxicity, it would easily be a good place to learn, grow, and make connections.

I worked for Redstone Media Group for roughly 4.5 years, during which I was able to take on various roles and responsibilities. While this company requires some employees to wear multiple hats, only those who can handle it are given the extra responsibility. Being one of those employees allowed me to further enhance my multitasking abilities and hone my skills in various areas.

Working at Redstone also allowed me to travel for work on multiple occasions to various trade shows in the pet industry. Attending the trade shows allowed me to keep up with what was happening in the industry as well as bring back new ideas and approaches that could be implemented at Redstone. 

Media jobs are hard to find in the Peterborough area, so I appreciated getting a role at a family run company that understands the work life balance. Especially since I was able to bring my dog to work on multiple occasions. 

Redstone Media Group is a faced paced work environment, but if you have a solid work ethic and can think for yourself, then this company is worth a shot!

Redstone was a great place to get into Digital Marketing and to learn how an agency works. My co-workers were amazing and supportive and were always willing to help when/if they had time. The owners are outgoing and pretty friendly people but they could do with having more confidence in their employees. Your work and education may be devalued if it isn't in line with the boss's vision.

While the company tries to comes off as a med-large company it is not that big so there isn't a whole lot of formal growth within the company. as well as there is a chance the job you applied for may not be the job you end up doing. 

There is also an overwhelming amount of work that is expected of you in short periods of time so if you know that you struggle in a fast pace environment or aren't willing to work after hours I wouldn't recommend applying here.

Redstone has been nothing but helpful and supportive in helping me start my professional career. I was hired on following a semester-long internship to finish my college program and have been steadily learning, improving, and growing under the guidance of the team. They have provided everything needed and more to help advance my skillset right out of the gate. The environment is great, everyone on the team is very kind and fun to work with, even under pressure. It can get a little stressful occasionally but that is to be expected. Even during crunch time, I find myself enjoying work! I've been able to work on a variety of projects so far, nothing I didn't sign up for and nothing I can't do/don't have the skills or training for. The variety is quite nice, as a creative team member I appreciate it! Outside of that, I have had a very positive experience with this company, and they have been extremely helpful, supportive, and actively engaged in growing my skills and knowledge.

Redstone is a very fast-paced environment which is not for everyone, however if you are hard, dedicated worker who is willing to learn new skills within different aspects of the company then I highly recommend it.

It is a place to learn, grow and be collaborative with other teams members whenever possible. While sometimes workloads can get heavy, its strong team members working together that continue to move you to the end goal, whether its a sale, completing a project, or making a client happy.  

For a smaller town, the wage compensation is fair based on ones current skill set as well as being a trustworthy, reliable and dedicated employee. 

Hard work, learning new skills, being creative in your role and a team player will help you advance your role in this company and your career.

I have been working for Redstone, both full-time and part-time, for many years, and they're one of the best companies I've worked for. In fact, this is the longest I have ever stayed at one job. The owners are warm and approachable, and unlike many companies, I was provided with support and encouragement during some difficult times in my personal life. Also unlike other places I have worked in the past, the employers and co-workers are friendly and easy to get along with. I also find that the owners are good at seeing where your strengths are and helping you to build on them. I always feel mentally stimulated after having a conversation with them, as they're so energetic and enthusiastic.I enjoy my job and am happy about being able to help people take better care of their pets through my work. 

This is a great company that has dedicated itself to animal wellness in both print and digital media. The management is extraordinary and open to new processes and procedures as long as they can be proven reliable. Most employees have been here more than 5+ years and they are a fantastic group of people to work with! Some days the job can be stressful (as most jobs are) but the people at Redstone will always help you through because of the team environment that exists. The most enjoyable part of the day is when you are working with all the pictures, words and layouts of the animals and you have in your mind that you are helping animals all day long! On most Fridays the whole team goes out for lunch and that is fun!

This company is a good company to get your foot in the door if you're fresh into the marketing world. However its not a long term company since the few management team members who are there (and should be guiding you) allow you to drown in work and pay you next to nothing until you quit. 

ALSO the owner expects you to be an expert in archaic marketing software platforms and marketing styles and then is upset when they don't work (its 2021 not 1999).

The workplace culture is not great and there is constant tension between the family who owns the company, which is very uncomfortable. 

Some of the staff team there is amazing, but people don't often stay very long. 

Redstone Media Group is a fast paced, high demand environment that  not all people can handle. What makes it a great place to work is the true team spirit of the people that work there.  I have worked in manufacturing, not for profit, municipal gov't, hospitals and publishing and have to say that Redstone Media was the only place that I found a true team mantality.
