My time at Redwood was indeed a test of resilience. The management consistently emphasizes our slow production each morning, leaving much to be desired in terms of support and encouragement. Within the workplace, a toxic culture prevails, where backstabbing is sadly not uncommon despite outward displays of camaraderie. Operating on razor-thin profit margins, Redwood demands unattainably high levels of productivity from its employees. Adding to the frustration, the company's RRSP match policy only activates after a year of employment, while employees must shoulder 50% of the premiums to access benefits.

Furthermore, another challenge arises from certain employees assuming supervisory roles without the official title. Take, for instance, an individual who was removed from the CNC department but persists in issuing orders and belittling colleagues.


In addition, another frustration at Redwood is the inefficiency in obtaining necessary inserts. There's just one person responsible for distributing them, which often means multiple trips per day. Compounding this issue is the lack of proper tooling provided to perform tasks adequately and on time.

Furthermore, safety concerns are worryingly lax at Redwood. It's not uncommon to see individuals on the shop floor without safety glasses, and there's a disturbing lack of adherence to safety protocols. There's even contention over access to gloves, with some resorting to hiding them from others.



Management does not really listen to their employees and is extremely slow to act on issues. Lousy communication between management and employees. Severe lack of training if u don’t have a Lead hand position. Little to no supervision in many cases which leads new employees to develop poor work habits from the start. The company repeatedly speaks of providing customers with "quality products" yet the production floor culture negates that and only stresses "numbers" at all times. Much of the equipment is antique (more than 10 years old) and is not properly maintained. The tools are far behind the times in this age of technology. Repetition within very physically demanding positions wears the employees out. Haphazard organization of various aspects within the warehouse, lacking proper structure for daily processes.They will also fire you on the spot if they feel like they don’t need you anymore senior employees have been let go off for no reason at all just for the management to cover there own heads and blame everything on the employees.

This company is run by a biased managerial clique that protects family members while penalizing regular staff for the exact same mistakes. You will be severely underpaid, unappreciated, and constantly micromanaged by leaders who have zero understanding of how to actually do your job.There is absolutely no room for career growth. It is just a toxic cycle of working your bag off with no rewards, zero appreciation, and no overtime offered to help you get ahead. Management is two-faced, constantly badmouths employees, and cannot handle basic structure, inventory, or safety. Avoid this place if you value your sanity and fair pay.

I've worked at Redwood for 5.5 years so far and it's been a fantastic experience. The management team really cares for their employees, the managers have been there forever and were hand-picked by the ownership team. A culture of (true) open-door and caring exists. Great medical/dental benefits too and paid vacation. They understand when life/emergencies happen too.

Little perks are great too - more than once has a bottle of Scotch appeared on my desk after a big win. The accolades are spoken to you as well, you don't just hear when you do something "wrong".

Culture was my favorite part. They really push the culture and work events. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and stressful most of the time.

Your day fly's by as there is always lots to keep you busy here. They will pay for any courses or training you want as long as its work related and you pass. Lots of perks after you've been there for a while if you put in the work. They promote from within so always opportunity to move up if you stick around.
Owned by a family, these guys will put in more hours than you all week then come in on the weekend.

Culture is extremely friendly, everyone asks how your weekend went and wants to know about your family and vacation.

Redwood has a huge number of people who have built their careers at the company, starting off at entry levels, and growing. Most managers have a genuine understanding and interest in the challenges of new employees, and take the time to help, because that's where they started; on the shop floor. There is always someone looking to share their knowledge and help you learn.

The company makes customer plastic parts for industrial applications so work and processes are always evolving.  The company culture and people are why I have always stayed. If you are able to learn and apply new skills and implement them the company has a lot of room for development. Management is available and trained to help new employees develop.

A company on the fast track to grow and expand with many long term employees combined with new young blood to offer a uniquely balanced experience. Youthful injection provides an progressive outlook with innovative new ideas and long term experience to ground the team and guide towards a common goal.

Some nice people but not much else positive. Some very poor work practices and low regard for safety. Tooling is very limited. You're time is constantly monitored. Operating procedures don't exist. Tons of chemicals and dust with little to no ventilation. Very little ppe provided. They're biggest concern is annual profits in the company and nothing else.
