I have worked for many trucking companies the last 15 years and I must honestly say Rene Transport is the best one Ive ever worked for. From Management on down to the equipment they just Do It Right. Our trucks are governed on cruise control at 105 kph but we are allowed to run up to 112 kph so we can pass other vehicles safely without having to drag race down the hiway. I personally love that ! Also Ive never in my trucking life have had a trucking company onsite shop call me personally to let me know the status of repairs on my truck and then follow up with another call asking if all is okay. That made me feel good and part of the team. Just an all around great place to work. Great communication with office staff that are super nice and helpful even after office hours.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Dispatcher was amazing always had you doing something never sitting waiting for an answer or job.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management and the service of trucks and trailers. Company was very cheap and liked to cut corners wherever they could to save a little here and there. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment was all about having the driver in the truck not much home time maybe 3 to 4 days out of the month and always working with equipment that has faults but were ignored. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy get as far as you can as quick as you can cause it was all paid by the Km so always a race against the clock.

Rene transport has given me a place to call home. The work is fun and only sometimes challenging.  When it is challenging, they offer support from various people in various positions.  The managment that runs Rene are very fair. They even worked with me when I wasn't being very fair towards them.  
Mechanics at Rene have been very good to me. My truck runs in great condition compared to some of the equipment I have driven for other employers. They are quick to fix issues that would normally cause me a headache. 
I would recommend any class 1 drivers looking for a great work environment to apply. 3 months in and I can safely say I love my job.

I’ve worked here for about 2 years and they’ve been a great company to work for. Management is approachable and will help you with any issues you may have. Dispatch is friendly and if they can’t answer your questions, will find someone that can. They have a lot of newer equipment and stay on top of maintenance. When the economy is booming they’ll give you as much work as you can handle, and when things are slow they always seem to find work. Any of the other drivers I worked with would always lend a helping hand if needed. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for work in the transportation industry.

I had a disappointing experience working at the Calgary shunt location, where I felt the management was unprofessional and lacked proper oversight. The supervisor exhibited a lack of respect and professionalism, creating a challenging work environment with little appreciation or recognition for drivers. Additionally, I found the HR department to be biased, often favoring supervisors while overlooking driver concerns. Overall, the work atmosphere was difficult, and improvements in management and employee support are needed.

Don't go there 4 work they lie very poor pay .

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Don't pay 4 hours waiting to load or unlock,no waiting time waiting for information on next load. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor. Always waiting for instructions. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Waiting time. They pay 1 hour to wash the truck and it takes 2 to 2.5hours .

I have been working at Rene over 2 years now and like any company, there are up's and down's in daily business. However, the way Rene handle themselves as a team in such a positive manner and dig in to either get things done or get things right is fantastic. Working here is refreshing after previously being lost in the shuffle of a large Corp. Rene is professional but a relaxed welcoming company who treat their employees and clients with the upmost respect. Amazing...Love my Job and my now forever people!

Lots of micro management as a tech you couldn’t make a decision nor a call it had to go through management then the tell you what the problem is. So you spend time chasing ghost, the took away breaks after an employee brought the fact that everything after 8 hrs is overtime once the look into it an realize it’s true the took coffee breaks away an then decided that some employee had to pay back an some employee the owed money  it was very shady.

Ice Road Trucker ,seasonal-Feb to Mar Yellowknife to Davik. Pay not great for hauling Dangerous Goods and 2021 winter living conditions poor. With covid, cold meals on plate or sandwiches at camps and no going into town when in Yellowknife. Must like talking on two way radio, must listen well for check points and not mind 25 km all day.

My overall experience from working at Rene Transport for 5+ years was great. The office staff were always extremely friendly and willing to go out of their way to help me out. There were many different work opportunities that arose as the company began to diversify allowing me to learn many new skills.
