I was working at Revenue Quebec for my internship, it was at the call center and we mainly focused on negotiating contracts for the income taxes. I had to follow very strict rules and making sure I was respecting my schedule as well as taking as many calls as I could. I met a lot of people who were studying the same program as me and we worked together everyday and helped each other out. We had to use four different systems throughout our internship that we learnt in 3 weeks. I took a lot of notes during the training, and helped my co-workers in case they needed any help. The hardest part of the job was sometimes I was not able to negotiate a contract because the debtor could not meet with our norms, therefore we must send these clients to another department. The most enjoyable part of the job was to help clients when they had any questions, even though I was new and did not know everything, I would take the time to ask my manager and provide my client with the right answers.

From year one up to now, nice environment to work at. Always learning new procedures and getting new skills. The problem that occurred to me is that we are losing credibility towards the population. The target the high management is fixing on a day to day basis is unrealistic but we keep on contributing to the effort.
The workplace represent the different culture living in Quebec which is agreeable. There's no hard part to the job beside the fact they don't recognize the  experience through out the years.
the most enjoyable part would be to participate on some kind of level to get equity for all...

The typical day for a tax collector can be routine or can be immersed. We have to analyze tax records, evaluate the fiscal behavior for companies and perform the recovery of major claims.

I have learned a lot about how we have to deal and communicate with taxpayers, lawyers and accountants etc.

We also analyze the financial statements and any other documents submitted by taxpayers in order to conduct the assessment and also analyze the financial situation in order to recover tax debts overdue.

I leaned more about how to
•	Collecte tax claims
•	Performe financial analysis
•	Take administrative and judicial remedies
•	Take legal mortgages on properties
•	Performe estimated notices of assessment

I had a good manager and a good team chief and good co-workers. 
the hardest part of the job consist in making notice of assessments to the administrators of a company.It was too long to do.

the most enjoyable part of the job was the financial analysis.

I was answering calls from 8h30 am to 4h30 pm. I was part of the people trained for the summer to work in the stead of the regular employees during vacation time.

The working environment wasn't friendly and most of our supervisor were regular employees appointed for the summer only.

We were monitored all the time and had to justify our stats all the time.

Most of the calls were repetitive and uninteresting.

Fun place a lot of people girls and boys cafeteria with microwave,  toaster, tables and chairs ....Place to relax during the breaks ...There was good management...Of course your boss ask to perform to a certain standard to collect money, if the file is not going as it should to make the necessary seizure  etc....
Sometimes you could find this a little hard to do to seize the banks, the house their salaries etc...

I was working as a student and the hours were VERY flexible. It pays well enough. However, as an assistant to the manager, you have to be prepared to be subjected to everybody else's needs. It is also a government job which means that every decision and anomalies has to go through a long process and exhaustive process, thus nurturing a culture of the status quo.

Good work/life balance.
Can be good to start a career since they easily give responsibility and opportunities to grow if you are a go getter. 

Salaries are lower than average. 
Same job at ARC pays at least 20k per year higher.  
Management tries to strengthen motivation but most professional are fed up with the collective bargaining that s been going on for more than 4 years.

- a lot of procedures for small things
- no pertinent for computer science or software development

worst place ever, you work a lot to have 2 personals days off and payed, but you can't take it when you need it, organisation worst I ever seen, we have a lot of tasks to do but we are not payed enough, hard work, every second client is disrespectful .... we are not allowed to speak between colleges.
