A typical day at work started out with a parking lot cleanup,changing of garbage cans,mechanical and electrical inspections.Roof inspections.Daily paperwork.Sewage inspection.Tile bed inspection.Lawncare. I learned all aspects of commercial building maintenance.My propery was managed by RioCan management.1225 Wonderland Road North,London,Ont. N6G 2V9.The hardest part of my job was being managed by out of town team instead of locally.The most enjoyable part of my job was meeting new people everyday. Also ,the continual learning skills gained on a daily basis.

I recently completed a summer internship and had an amazing experience. The work environment was fun and light-hearted, yet productive and challenging. The team was welcoming and friendly, making it easy to network and build relationships. I was given meaningful tasks and opportunities to showcase my skills and contribute to the company's goals. Outside of work hours, there were plenty of social events and activities organized to help us bond and have fun as a team. I particularly enjoyed the team-building exercises and off-site trips. Overall, this internship has been a great learning experience, both professionally and personally. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and enriching summer internship.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very friendly environment, easy to handle, multi tasking,  very active, flexible schedule, etc

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Covering customer service for Tanger Outlet mall Cookstown and Kanata

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very nice and friendly and it is multicultural 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Provide the best possible customer service ( info, gift cards, stroller, wheelchair, walkers, etc to the customer, support and provide the tenants info and memos in order to organize activities in the mall, etc

I learned about transient tenants, rental agreements, print, radio, tv and billboard advertising.

Management taught me a lot but was also very negative if you showed any sort of initiative to do things your own way or any new ideas. Mostly management was unfriendly, (not to just me - everyone)

Hardest part was writing speeches for the Board members.
Most enjoyable was events, people and rental work.

At first it was a great place minus the pay but the relaxed environment was a plus. Then management changed and now if you have any issue with a team member or management they'll quickly get rid of you despite what the issue is. After 5 years of working my butt off to make them look good and taking on extra work they decide to "take a different direction" instead of actually listening to they're emlloyees. So stay away cause 80% of other companies pay better in Edmonton then Rio Can't.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The team was amazing. Everyone there worked so well together. And they worked so hard to make sure their properties were taken care of and tenant concerns were addressed.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
On call can be a bit stressful at times. But in an on call position, that's normal.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Its amazing. Very supportive and willing to help when you have questions

Almost all processes and procedures at this company need a complete overhaul. Compared to others in the industry RioCan has fallen behind its peers and its employees suffer as a result. Management is incredibly cheap and do not care about employees.

A normal day was spent in the office on computer collecting sales, insurance, rent from commercial tenants as per request from management. I learned how a commercial real-estate company runs its business spaces. The workplace culture was diverse and well balance between serious and fun.

At my time at Riocan, never have I ever felt excluded in anything. The environment has been friendly there since the first day till my last. Everyone is very helpful and they also keep you updated with what is going on. The Riocan team is friendly, the offices are comfortable and anyone would be lucky to work there.

After working at RIOCAN Georgian Mall as a Guest Service rep, I can say that I would probably never find a job like this anywhere else! If I do, nothing can compare to this one! My supervisor and my colleagues are the best and I couldn't ask for anything more! I had to leave as I am relocating and it breaks my heart!
