I was with the company for 17 years.  I started as a material handler and worked my way up to setup and supervision.  I was offered training and education which I was eager to do and very grateful to receive.  I enjoyed the hands on part of having to do all work yourself which gave me an understanding of how everything works and how to troubleshoot effectively.  The other supervisiors and setup guys were the best and I wouldn't be the tech I am today if it weren't for them.  The management were supportive and weren't afraid to come on the floor to assist with issues.
Towards the end of my time I had enough of the overtime which felt like never ending and I was robbed of a lot of Sundays. I also felt like I wasn't appreciated and I topped out.
My shift was very much like a family.

First & Foremost I would like to say Ritz Plastics is a good company to work for However… Its the Management and Employees that make it difficult in a workplace. During my time there I had a lot of Ups & Downs the beginning everything was great until there was a change sorta big change on the floor, we were told that our shift was getting out of control for whatever reason wasn’t shared in the meeting. During this change we lost a great supervisor which I have known for years, easy going good to talk to great problem solver during this time we also lost a great setup Individual. From there on everything went downhill and is continuously still going downhill. In all honestly I’m glad I’m not there, everyday I went to work I went in with anxiety and on my last day feeling like I was free. To whom who reads this, it’s not bashing the company like I said It’s the Management & Employees that make it difficult. 

Due to constantly being behind on jobs operators get loaded up with machines, material handlers and setups are slammed daily, full day of tool changes every single day on top of many startups and misc problems, be prepared to skip breaks. If you're looking to learn and move up there are plenty of opportunities, but do not become a lifer. There are multiple cliques that squabble with each other but if you keep to your work you'll be fine. Management does not understand/ does not care about morale and has let many good workers become completely demoralized, the long term viability of this place is uncertain without a massive(MASSIVE) purge of the staff or an attitude adjustment from the people running the show. That said, the people there are not bad people and I greatly enjoyed working with most of them and am very grateful for the opportunities provided to me.

It is very rare to find a workplace where you have the upmost respect for management and the employees. The general manager and manufacturing manager are the two most intelligent and capable people I've ever met. 

I've been a supervisor for many different companies and this is the only place where   I genuinely believed my team leads, technicians and operators are above the norm.

My team lead was the nicest and most hard working person I've ever worked beside. The senior operators are always willing to help out. The trick is to actually treat them with the respect they deserve. It brings out the best in them. 











What a place to work for.  Poorly managed is an understatement!  Our plant manager who RARELY comes to work is insulting, dishonest, sneaky and unkempt.  He puts us down in front of people and gets away with it.  To be expected i guess since there is no leadership at the top.  

The Union is a utter joke!  Nothing else needs to be said there.  The company clearly won that one.  To be expected i guess as the Union only wants our dues!

I agree with others who have commented that it's all on the ownership.  They can't possibly be this blind to things, it's just simply not possible!  To be expected i guess as they're just counting their cash and comfy in their Hawaiian paradise!

Garbage place to work for with the worst corrupt Union loving co-workers to be had.

I've never seen a place go downhill so fast when a new GM comes on.  I used to enjoy my job until they allowed the company to be unionized due to lack of action.  I think they want the union in because ownership and management did absolutely nothing what so ever to counter the unions efforts.  Some of the talented employees have left for that reason.  RITZ treated it's good employees like garbage while letting the ones trying to ruin it get away with anything.  You can see it and feel it.  I truly feel bad for the people who really need a job to earn a living as the few who work purely for sport and to cause disruption get away with it.  And now with the holidays coming I'm laid off, but not the trouble makers.  
SHAMEFUL  AND DISGUSTING

There is no shortage of work.  In fact there's too much being taken on. Overtime is a constant but only for the factory workers. Management walks out happily knowing there's never overtime for themselves, and doesn't care about employees families one bit. Corrupt employees try to force individuals into forming a union daily, which is ignored by management it seems. If the company would react and play by its own rules this situation may never have come along. There is opportunities for growth and there are lots of people who want to work hard and do good.  If things don't change a lot of people will have an uncertain future.  Ownership needs to step in and step up.

I was a quality  auditor.  I learned  that it's a demanding  job, but it was rewarding. Management  is ok, there is a lack  of  rules  / structure which  is taken  advantage  of by utterly  useless machine  operators. The hardest  part  of  the  job was being  harassed  to form  a union which  eliminated moral  almost  completely.  The shifts were 2 week  rotation  for my department.  Afternoon  shift  is absurdity  busy.  The most  enjoyable  part of the job was being able to see new products  being developed.

Worked as second shift supervisor, employees were good too bad they were not paid more than minimum wage (back before it was $15/hour).  The upper management was 3 people so it was not a company that had too many managers, these guys knew their business and ran the company well

Friendly and organised employees, was able to learn and contribute to various sectors of the company. Such as aid in new business gain, working with quality department to solve engineering issues, and hands-on machine operation permission
