River Road Retirement Residence

Residents were great. Some staff was great to work with. Management was the PROBLEM.Have not a clue on how to run a business of that sort. 
Cared only for themselves and the almighty Dollar that was going in their pockets. The hardest part of the job was trying to get new Equipment in the Kitchen and Dining Room.
Raises were almost impossible to get. 
The Management thought that you would work all kinds of overtime but not pay ALL of it in a pay check,, Wanted to Bank all your OVERTIME HOURS and pay when they thought it was time. Not overtime ! just regular time. 
Can not even rate the Management their is no minus ratings .
One more thing. 
They should take the number 1 rating for Retirement Homes out off the paper because all of the STAFF that was there when the ratings were done are not there no more!!!!

River Road Retirement Resident is a wonderful place! The home is beautiful, very warm and cozy. All of the staff are friendly, helpful and very amazing.Another great feature is the amazing view. I have been at the home for 2.5 years and it is a very lovely place to work.
A typical day is spending quality time with the resident's, enjoying conversation, music and helping participate in spelling and trivia. 
The most enjoyable part of the job is making a difference in the Residents day to day life. And spreading the LOVE.

Poor management different staff every other week everyone walking on egg shells because you don't know if your going to be fired or hours cut back can't talk to other staff or residents feel bad for residents there not taking care of properly general manager needs to be working somewhere else not in a retirement home the pay sucks you work like dogs and do 4 different jobs for a  low wage I don't recommended this place to anyone they should be shut down

Not at all stressful.Its a friendly atmosphere.

We have a good team work and good working atmosphere.

It's makes me happy and joyful.

Management was terrible, never knowing if you were going to have a job the next day.
Management was very un- trustworthy and wages very low as you were expected to work like a dog. Very unorganized people.
Residence were amazing felt like family.

I have been here for almost six years now. Initially I Started as a server in the kitchen and over the year I got promoted to Kitchen supervisor.  everybody i work with is really helpful and together we make up a great team. All the staff is easy to get along with. Definitely recommend this place.

Needs to be closed down.
Does not follow basic safety guidelines in regards to residents.( Fire code, resident to staff ratio)
Canadian staff are treated poorly, overworked for minimal wages. 
Owners are only interested in the money, and a way to  bring family members to Canada from India with a guarantee of a job - SCAM !!!!!




It is nice have management that actually cares about you. Co-workers helps you with your problems. The residents appreciates all the efforts we put in taking care of them. Over time you get to know every resident and you don't feel like you are there to work.

Joined river road residence few months ago. I like working here,so far it has been the best place i have worked at. My superiors are really helpful and they answer all my questions. Would recommend this place to everyone looking for a job.

Bad pay bad management. Micro manages staff. Only cares about money. Didn't like us taking breaks. Only was allowed to have lunch. Expected to much work in less than 8 hours. Very unorganized and unprofessional. Wasn't allowed to talk to staff or residents.
