I had the pleasure of working alongside one of the best managers I have ever had during my time at Timberwalk.

I was a slightly part-time/slightly full-time receptionist during the different seasons that I worked. My immediate supervisor was very kind, understanding, and very communicative about anything the team needed to know. They were also very receptive to ideas from staff and would appreciate any feedback on how to better the day-to-day functioning of the team. If anyone was to ever make a mistake, they would make sure to take the time to help us fix the mistake and not make it again in the future, in a way that felt very helpful! I felt appreciated and valued as a part of the team. 

Hours were flexible and coverage was available, as long as you did not leave things last minute. At times, we were very short-staffed, and I had to pick up a ton of extra shifts, but I was able to take on that load at the time, so I did not mind. There was not a ton of room for advancement positions, but I also was not in any position to have been moving up in my role. I was happy as a receptionist!

Overall, I loved my time there, and I would absolutely go back if I were ever living in the area and they needed a receptionist again. 

I unfortunately did not have the chance to show  my skills and give excellent level of care to the residents, due to personal circumstances that were out of my control at that time. What I do want to say, however, if you are a chosen candidate, Stirling Park goes above and beyond where onboarding is concerned.  I received welcome letters  from the GM right down to accounting. An overview of the staff and their designations, very easy booking portal for shifts, and a true  sense of team work and camaraderie among all levels of employees.   The Director of Care is kind, accommodating and goes above and beyond in helping her staff.  Sadly, the position did not work out for me at that time, but it was certainly not reflective of any issues with the facility. If you are an RPN looking for a real sense of community, leadership, and a simply beautiful environment to show your skills, I highly recommend you try Stirling Park. I have been with the company for 9 months now, and have felt like family since the first day. Teamwork is evident and emphasis is on ensuring residents are well taken care of, they have fun and property is taken care of with much respect.  During COVID, staff were well treated and thanked with weekly tokens of appreciation. Management is fair, consistent and supportive. The challenge of working here is finding the best solutions to best support the residents but managers and employees work well together to make that happen. Communication is always open and feedback is always given, respectfully.

After applying to a position here, I received an email for an interview. The lady who contacted me for the interview clearly got her dates mixed up and called me a week earlier than agreed upon. I even confirmed the exact date and time with her when I accepted the interview. After missing her phone call I called back numerous times and left a voicemail. After about a week of not hearing back, I sent an email and asked if she would like me to call back. She said because I missed her call, they hired someone else. I was not even given a fair chance because this woman can't keep track of her days. It was a reflection on the employer as a whole, and confirmed to me that I most likely would not have liked this place. Seems to be very poorly managed.

The management at Stirlingpark was awful. It was a really fun place to work until the new manager got hired and it all went very downhill from there. We were often over worked after employees left due to new management, under appreciated and our thoughts and concerns were not taken into account what so ever. Used to get called in many times on days off, would always come and help when needed, almost always understaffed and They then terminated employees “ without cause” just before probation was up and failed to follow many protocols and regulations surrounding that, such as offering a union rep or following the employee standards act. 

This company has a lot of turnovers for a reason. I just got laid off before my 3 month probation was over by a very poorly managed staff. My manager was very unorganized and based her decision off of her personal opinion of me and not based on my work ethic. 
This company will keep you for 3 month, make you work like you are just a number and then they will give you a letter informing you they no longer need you. Stay away from RiverStone.

Having worked for other retirement companies, I can confidently say that Riverstone is a cut above the rest. While no employer is perfect, upper management at Riverstone is actively involved in each of the properties while also allowing individual managers a fair amount of freedom to manage their teams how they see fit. Any issues with payroll or HR are handled efficiently and effectively. Turnover is very low for retirement, and the company often promotes from within.

This workforce has no idea what integrity,  morals or values are. Incompetence and a lack of respect for both the residents and coworkers was very apparent, yet not dealt with, but rather condoned. 
Do yourself a favor and don't make the mistake of thinking that maybe you could change the culture, bred by poor management. Walk away and look elsewhere,  there's a reason for the poor reviews and constant need for employees!

Didn't work there long. Was thrown under the bus by employees to work over night 5 minutes before the end of shift, no notice and it was expected. I wasnt even there for a week. There was no effort to call in other staff to cover the shift.  Management wasn't listening to my concerns and tried to intimidate me into staying. Under staffed and under paid for what is expected.

Professionalism, and team works.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
For myself its nothing because at the nursing dept. We helps each other.

Peaceful and safe invironment to work, with multi-cultural employee and residents. 


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Its always been a normal day, enjoying everyone during the shift.
