A typical day started at 8.30 in the morning by switching on my laptop and checking the emails; on average I would receive between 50 to 100 emails a day because of a number of ongoing International virology and oncology projects . 
I started in the pharmaceuticals field in 2010. I received the basic training in ICH-GCP from Basel, Switzerland. During 2010 and 2013 I attended various international training's for the latest clinical research software's being introduced by Roche including ARisG , IWRS and Plansource to name a few.
The management was quite supportive as it was only in 2009 that Medical Department of Roche Pakistan was established and in a short period of 5 years due to the excellent work done were being awarded Virology and Oncology international trials.
The Department was only established in 2009 i was the only CRA reporting to the clinical operation manager in total there were only 3 people in the department but no matter worked as a team and won laurels for our country.
The hardest part of the job was followup of clinical trails as most of the patients recruited by the Principle investigators belonged to urban setting constant followup was necessary.
The most enjoyable was the acceptance we got in the short span of time from the Global Teams running the Clinical research projects.

Global pharmaceutical company, never a dull moment.  International employees would visit with wonderful stories and often little gifts for the Receptionist.  Made so many new friends there.  Learned a lot about different societies in general.  Challenging workload but benefits (from day 1) were incredible, including a gym with morning, 2 lunchtime and after work classes which would change every day.  Amazing fully staffed cafeteria in a sunny plant filled atrium.  Meals to die for!  Plus vending machines throughout the building.  Great yearly bonuses.  Lunch and Learns and special events and yearly 3 day off-site destinations paid by the company.  Always striving to improve employees' knowledge.  I highly recommend applying here to this great company of 4 stories that has a picnic table area that overlooks a pond with geese and fish.

Implementing company sales and marketing strategies to the Cancer Centers of Atlantic Canada. To ensure our medications were targeted to the right types of cancer in the right types of patients.

Constantly learning through implementing new drugs and indications.

Managers would turn over every 2-4 years so you’re  constantly collaborating with new people.

Even though you work independently in your own territory you still have to work as a team nationally. Sharing projects and ideas were essential for success

The hardest part of the job was accessing some key opinion leaders in the very busy Cancer Centers

The most enjoyable part of the job was getting feedback from the physicians about patients that were responding extremely well or were cured of their cancer.

Management pushes on filling positions that are only meant to remain contractual.  Easier for them to let you go when you no longer serve the need.  Every week they have a classroom full of new employees joining and just as many leave.  Spoiled mentality with no room for growth part of the reason is job duties and functions are too specialized that you need to reach out to so many people in order to get just one thing accomplished.  

Lots of drama and politics with a liberal mindset.  They are sunshine and rainbows in front of your face but back stab when the occasion calls for it to serve their best interest.  Pump and dump mentality.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great company but quality of the managers vary.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
managers focus on their own developments more than develop their reports as too many initiatives unnecessary set up.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good work life balance but many managers are not from the same steam of similar or related jobs without knowledge of the contents of what their direct reports work on.

Hoffmann-La Roche is a great company to work for. The management is open-minded and accommodating to any personal life events that may occur. The workplace culture is quite warm and welcoming. They have an amazing gym with fabulous instructors who are ready to help you with your fitness goals. Hoffmann-La Roche is really honing in on the work-life balance by allowing flexible hours of work and also flexible locations at work so that you are not tied to your desk all day. Overall, Hoffmann-la Roche is the best company I have worked for so far.

I sold blood sugar monitors (Accuchek Aviva Nano), trained nurses, lab technicians and pharmacists to use it so that they could sell it to diabetic patients and train diabetic patients to use it.

Reimbursed warranty cards, verified and made sure inventory was sufficient to face the demand and made sure displays and promotional material were well posted in drug stores for the best impact on sales.

Developped sales with actual and new costumers.

Sold promotional programs to pharmacists owners, taking their feedback to my manager.

Roche is a Global organization that encourages Passion, Integrity and Courage in all workplace environments.  I have been a senior people manger there for several years now and truly am inspired most when assisting my teams and individuals to develop and succeed.
Our CEO and VP's lead by example and are truly concerned with the feedback and Employees' opinions in the governing of the company.  It is a great place to work both due to the products they have as well as the people that work there.

People are very unfriendly and there is a bullying culture as management like to blame those under them if things aren't going to plan.
You are expected to get on with the work given from day 1 with no assistance or help. Don't even dare ask a question as you will be told that you are not very good and shouldn't need to ask questions. Most CRAs will serve their 6 month contract and leave immediately as they are unable to work in such a negative environment. Whilst there CRAs came and went all the time and everyone was unhappy.

Professional culture. Good wages and benefits. Excellent physical work environment. Attention to ergonomics.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Good performance does not necessarily secure your job. Managers have favourites.
