I worked as a quick service attendant and at that time, I was constantly put in the position of snack attendant which was odd because it was supposed to be randomized. I told HR about how this position was very anxiety-provoking and that I would prefer to not work this position as frequently. HR contacted me back telling me that this job may not be suitable for me because of issues with anxiety. I did not feel supported and I felt that they dismissed my feelings. Their reaction was quite ableist. I truly hope they are better now.

In the mutiple roles I was given in this workplace I have learned that treating other employees and management with the up-most respect will get you further and more desirable to work with. All managment was professional and well-organized. The co-workers ranged from 16yrs old - 70yrs old, so you rally had to be adaptable and relatable will all different types of people. The hardest part of the job was the uncomfortable hat that management made you wear for your whole shift if you were on cash. The most enjoyable was watching the games or listening to the concerts during slow periods of the shift.

This job started off just fine with a steady income coming in as a young man just out of high school. As time progressed and I got older and had more to pay it became less and less feasible to continue working for the company. After a while I started to realize the management continuously treated me like a child and never really allowed me to progress or move out of the base entry level position. A few personal issues arose and I eventually had to leave the company. I would not recommend this position to anyone looking to move forward in customer service or for anyone looking for a decent paying job to help pay their bills.

While working at Rogers Arena I learned how to work well with others as a team, I also learned how to problem solves and compromise in difficult situations. I became more confident working with customers. Everyone was very polite and patient, people were willing to learn new things as well as teach others new things. Some hardships I faced were things like working very quickly to keep fast service, but with practice I began working quicker while managing to keep quality in my work. I most enjoyed working as a team with others, it was a real confidence boost and was alot of fun.

a typical day is going to your stand setting up the meat and all the stuff needed and show casing it for fans to see. Cleaning up your stuff at the end of each shift such as washing dishes, mopping and wiping garbage off counters.

Learned to communicate better more so towards people who are drunk 

workplace culture is very loud and busy with a very narrow hallway so there is big crows that are usually drunk

Hardest part is to cut the meat in a very specific way and keep it thin as possible

Communicating with fans talking about canucks games and watching them.

The fact you can have this as a side job

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Worked there as a supervisor for one year. Being treated like a teenager was annoying. A constant preaching and monitoring of your steps, even to going to the washroom and during food breaks. I'm a responsible grown-up adult for heaven's sake. Truly annoying.

Good in general. Just expect to be treated like a kid.

Follow orders and behave as you are told.

What is the best part of working at the company?
so fun to work there especially if you see all the happy people during games and concerts!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
when it gets busy, cause i worked in the food service!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was a good working environment, with all kinds of ages from seniors to middle aged and young teenagers!  It was a great learning experience ! It was a safe environment as well ! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
prepare, cook, bake serve and clean up!

Although it has it's busy time, every shift is chill. I learned a lot of culinary experience from frying fries to making gourmet food. Management is great, everyone is friendly and cooperative. The most challenging part of the job is keeping up with production as it gets busy sometimes. The most enjoyable part is the diversity within the workplace and everyone becomes a friend rather than co-workers.

I very much enjoyed being a part of the Rogers Arena team. Working there provided me with customer service experience, improved my ability to be an even better team player. The management and i got along very well. A typical day at work involved greeting customers in a friendly manner and serving them food and drinks to enjoy during their stay. The workplace culture was a very fun environment and everyone was friendly.

It’s a great place to work at as you can pretty much choose whatever you are most comfortable with as I started out as a Quick Service Attendant and that job was probably one of the best experiences I had at a workplace and I would say you have to quick and know what you are doing as it’s a fast paced environment.
