I work as an assistant manager from 2011 to 2013 as part of the college recruitment program after graduation. There was very little procedural training. Before going to my store I was told that my training would continue because I only had a brief overview of each area, but when I got to my store I was expected to know everything already and was not given the appropriate time to learn the proper procedures. District manager favors employees more than store management, co-workers were angry that I came into the position thru the college program. Management was unwilling to give me the time needed to learn the operations of the business. The hardest part of the job was having to  do all the operations alone and giving supervisors enough time to complete their job. This position should have been salary not hourly.

My Experience at Ross was very like assisting the customers with any questions or help, having my team members there for any help i needed or if they needed help im willing to do so, ive learn alot about sizing clothes cash handling, becoming a store protection specialist, i was very cool with management if i had a problem with anybody management come up with different solutions on trying to solve the problem, i love my co workers helpful fun but also we  know how to keep it professional, there wasnt no hardest part the most enjoyable part is satisfying the customers

Ross was my first job and I ended up staying almost 2 years because I enjoyed the job. The different cultures I experienced on a daily was very eye opening. From the customers to my coworkers. I loved the team efforts and we all seemed to be one big family. I enjoyed my days there and had fun when we all use to work together. The most enjoyable part of the job was helping people find clothes and outfits that helped hem feel beautiful and made them happy. The hardest part in my location was the language barriers sometimes because a lot of my customers didn't speak fluent English but as I went on it became easier to adjust.

I'm already a full-time employee and Area Supervisor in the back warehouse, have over 18/20 employees love to have great and wonderful people working with me make laugh and sometime have to be serious we all can do this, the hardest is that the freight for that has to come out at a certain hour, so then must be fast , efficient always to meet our goal for that day , but we all are team players and deliver our treasure to the store.

Getting to know everyone on a daily makes me enjoy them all, and it's part of our job.

A typical day of work at ross would be enjoyable, as it being my first job i learned how to be to work on-time, perform all dutties at a fast and steady pace, learned responsibility and to interact with customers/unsatisfied customers. Management within itself was unorganized and rarely available but did have one or two assistant managers who were willing to help and teach. My co-workers were amazing, very diverse and everyone seemed to work well with or around one another working as a team. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to work and associate with my piers.

The company was great at the start of my journey.  People were a focus of our upper management.  The culture changed and became stressful.  It was a great place to learn how to manage high volume stores and upwards of 100+ associates during peak times.  Unfortunately the environment was not conducive to a happy and fun workplace.

My reiew on this employer was great. I enjoyed working for this company was always busy. I enjoyed working with my co workers, and supervisors. I learned company procedures quickly. There was a high volume of public contact, I was reliable to my employer, hard workink, Assume responsibility to complete each task that was given to me.

The support from corporate management is not their. Pay is the worst in retail. Ive worked other places and this is probably the worst. Even if you have a good work review they only give you almost nothing. You work and do everything they expect from you the compensation I still not worth it.

Ross is a good first time manager job. You work in a structure enviromemt, but can be creative. In the right circumstances developmemt is made important. Politics for promotion, promotions are not based on performance and ability. So know eho you need to help to move up.

Overall somedays we would be extremely busy other days we would be at a slow paste and not really to busy. The managers were pretty nice but the head was a real rude,cruel, person. I stayed there for so long because I absouletly loved my co-workers all of them were very sweet.
