Warehouse staff turnover is high and people are often let go and replaced due to productivity standards. Fork lift staff get high productivity counts because a pallet full of product can count for 2000 items from one pick. A person picking 3 of these pens and 2 of these pencils, 4 of this, 3 of that can expect their daily productivity counts to be low and not meet their productivity standards and be out of a job in no time after being hired there. Expect to be disciplined as if you are a child. Be aware that picking items for their orders is fubar and their received products are often placed in the wrong place so you have to read the fine print on the pen or pencil itself = this takes excess time and reduces amount of product you can pick in a rushed time / reduces your productivity report counts. Discipline from management for errors and low productivity was not nice at all. They probably treated their family pet with more respect than they treated us pickers. The attitude of managers was that they can replace you at any time. Suspect s p richards has to resort to hiring temp foreign workers because they treat people with such disrespect no one wants to work for them. Company assigned safety officer on his fork lift with me first attitude could run you over, knock you off tall ladder to the concrete floor and not care that you are a human in his rush to fulfill his picker product numbers. Suggest there are numerous better places to work than this profit greedy company.

The warehouse is full of hazardous concrete dust and is very unorganized. 
They expect you to work at least 2-4 hours of overtime every day and if you are unable to stay for overtime the floor manager threatened to tell the general manager that I was an unreliable employee and that i probably wouldnt be there much longer if it happened again. 
After this incident i reported it to the HR drpartment and they said it was my fault and i should be available for overtime whenever they need it.

In the 4 weeks i worked there 5 days each one, i had accumulated 213 hours of work total, when it should have been only 160 hours over 4 weeks at 40 hours per week.

Thats 53 hours of overtime in 4 weeks!

Enjoyed working for SP Richards. Management will train you well and will also help you get better everyday. This company has helped me
develop most of my skills when it comes to shipping, receiving, and management of employees. I worked for them for 2 years until they got bought by Novexco  which led to the closure of our Edmonton warehouse.

Do not work for this company. They do not care about their employees at least not at the Edmonton location. The management seems decent when they interview you but as soon as you start they demand that you work ridiculous amounts of overtime and refuse to admit anything could possibly be their fault.

good people to work with, fun and social, pay is weak and the management is terrible, no follow through, and you will never get paid what you are truly worth, as well will be continually be told that you can do better and more and aren't working hard enough

Enjoyed working here for almost 14 years, great training, and culture, unfortunatly not much room for to move up.  managers need to listen more to the needs of the sales people and not over load sales people with so many accounts.

For night shift, there was a lot of overtime because you and your team have to finish all the orders of the day before you can leave. For the work, you either walk around the warehouse to pick items or drive an electric cart to pick items. 

The job itself is fun. I like the attention to detail and I like the fast pace. I learned be more attentive to the task at hand, to decrease mistakes and to improve my skill working with a team because I`m used to working alone.

Was a good place to work but wages where to low. It was very cultural and nice to learn other cultures. Hours where to long with no choice of not to do them. Management was super good and completely fair.

Job offered new and challenging opportunities
Management was very understanding and considerate when it came to the needs and concerns of the employees
