SANDMAN INN

My duties at the Sandman included making beds, cleaning the entirety of the room and making sure that everything in the room was in top, working condition. As Head Housekeeper I got to train new hires and give reviews on work performance. 

Working alone required me to be self-motivated and enthusiastic about my duties. There was a camraderie between housekeepers that kept the atmosphere light and enjoyable. My supervisors made sure to make us feel appreciated while keeping a professional tone to our communication. 

The hardest part of the job was not being allowed to socialize with guests and the hours were the most enjoyable. The flexibility of days combined with the hours made for a great balance of home and work life.

Management would be drunk at 8am when I’d show up to work. They allowed employees to get high in the parking lot and piled the slack onto the good employees. A couple of times I was the only employee that showed up and was expected to clean a full house by myself. They’re unprofessional and very disorganized. I’d never work for Sandman again because of these people. 
When hired, you’re put in the books as part time so they don’t have to give “lowly housekeepers” benefits, only the higher up employees are given benefits.

It was alright. I did not spend enough time there to truly understand the workplace. Though as a momentarily attending volunteer, I can say the area was a bit cramped when it came down to storage, and the amount of workers working within the banquet rooms and storages room wasn't too impressive. 

Management often was condescending and not very polite when I was asking for help in understanding a problem. She often made me feel like I was doing everything wrong but she didn't really help me to correct any of the problems. Manager is very controlling and sarcastic.

I am a long time employee with the Sandman. I have been with the Sandman for 10 years. I have never had any issues with the company. They always have treated me and other employees with the out most respect.

I loved it there, everyone was approachable and nice to work with. The management was organized. The workers all worked together. I enjoyed learning all of the different types of jobs they had to offer.

I started this job in a time when I had many struggles. My employed has been very forgiving, patient and understanding. I will forever be grateful for the ppl I have met at tims job

This was not a great place to work.  As part of the job, you are required to keep up maintenance on the building.  Inside and out but we’re not given any funds to do this, then get blamed for drab exterior and unpainted rooms.

very quiet routine shifts, good people to work with and flexible shifts and days off. clean, reliable and friendly people. easy access to bus routes and on main highways to easily plowed and drivable all year round

This job is fun and the environment is a great place to work. There is just not enough hours as they go by seniority and I do not get enough shifts because they are claimed already.
