My time at Semex was overall, quite mixed. Your morale and enjoyment of the work is heavily influenced by the team you work with, as teamwork essential to the position.

The onboarding and probationary period are rather straightforward, and management is eager to answer any questions you might have. There are 4 different teams of people alternating between day and night 12-hour shifts every two weeks. 

The work environment does not promote inclusivity. In fact, it can get quite hostile. Cliques are a major issue within the teams, and that has lead to many instances of rumours, drama, and especially, issues with collaboration and communication. Many times I found myself working alone as my team refused to help me with tasks requiring 3 people at the minimum. Management did little to mitigate this issue, and they do not pair you with the people that you get along with well enough to work as a team effectively. 

The shift work is detrimental to one's health, as it is hard to switch between working from 7AM-7PM to 7PM-7AM with little time to switch your own sleep schedule. Prepare to sacrifice your entire social life and relationships for this position.

As an entry-level position to gain experience in the industry, this job is a good option. You do gain valuable skills that can be utilized in bigger and better endeavours in the future. 

While the pay is higher than most entry levels in the industry, the 12 hour shift schedule switches between days and nights every 2 weeks which causes teams to be chronically understaffed. Additionally, they are quick to nitpick the tiniest mistakes meanwhile there is no reward or acknowledgment for consistently doing the work of 3-4 people (because on top of being short staffed, management will wait until the last second to try to cover vacations/call ins). Another frustrating thing is that when there is an urgent issue there is no way to get in contact with the supervisors if they are not physically present in the building as they simply do not respond on weekends or night shifts.  About 90% of the staff are only still here because they haven't gotten an offer from somewhere else.

Unfortunately monopoly of few people is dominant at SEMEX,The HR only hire Referral candidates.There is not such thing Merit and qualified people hired there.They say Diversity but just for their favorite people lots of women in production have raciest behavior.
So so Disappointing environment for non referral employees.
Higher Management should take an action against those ladies who actually promoting racism in the company just for the sake of their designations to be saved since they are all on referrals.

I have been working at Semex for nearly 5 years and it has been an amazing experience.  This is a company that truly values employees and continues to strive towards excellence.  I have had incredible career growth and support from my colleagues and management since starting in 2013 and can only see more to come.  From career development to the very active social committee this is a great place to be with a great culture and fantastic people.

In production laboratory at Semex, all girls are so racist and the supervisor and manger support them with their discriminatory behaviour.
The work quality is so poor but they are do politics together so no one can point out their poor work flaws.
Very very disappointed work environment due to those unprofessional workers.

I enjoyed working with the guests, help new employees on their first day, all departments worked hand in hand.  The receptionist position was well detailed with information, many samples of "how to" so it made the position more relaxing

Semex was great in helping me get started as a teacher with weekly yoga classes at lunch. They also participated in one of my case studies for school on frozen shoulder and letting me help employees by incorporating a daily yoga therapy practice.

To success in this Genetic agriculture industry , you need to more like business oriented with great communication skills that makes you succeed in this industry. Pay well and benefits are really great . Company should encourage more towards industry standard certification to their employees 

Overall great place to work. Calm and beautiful office settings. Work is fun. Good salary and benefits. In general people are very polite and respecful. 
Flexible schedule so you can have a more balanced life. Company listen to employees and their needs.

I feel supported in my role by my peers and manager. I enjoy a variety of work and feel like I'm making a difference in the organization. My opinion is sought and respected. I enjoy working here and would recommend it!
